Forums - Gaming - Anybody bought a Surface yet?

I was planning to buy the PRO version but after seeing the Sony Vaio Duo 11 I changed my mind.

A little bulky and low battery life but everything else is all I want in an tablet/laptop hybrid.

I bought a Ipad 4 on black friday.

Got Galaxy on Fire 2 HD. A must have for any sci-fi buff.

Surface is too new. Early adopers always get screwed.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Not available here.

The product will fail eventually.
I like Microsoft strategy though.

They promoted it as a flagship product and people noticed Win 8 with it.
Now the product will start vanquishing and it won't be noticed because of upsurge of flagship products from other OEM. So till other OEM's brought matured products they promoted Surface and this makes me believe to not want Surface anymore.

Which store was that pic taken at? Yorkdale? I know someone looking for an RT device (not necessarily a Surface) so I might go pick this up for him tonight.

Yeah Yorkdale. Hopefully they still have some left.

I held one of these Asus tablets in my hand last night ready to check out but changed my mind while waiting in line. I'm currently on a 12 step program to stop buying stuff I don't need or want just cause the price is good...and essentially I don't need or want this.  :)

I want a surface like design and need an X86 tablet, so my choice is pretty obvious.

But otherwise this looks like a great RT tablet especially for 399 with keyboard.

Well I'm waiting for Pro or a decently priced hybrid from one of the other manufacturers

Oh and a raise of some sort

There have been a few articles citing microsofts unclear strategy for the Surface, that and msft cutting production to half of what was originally planned.

its selling like crap similar to the WiiU basic bundle, they both are pointless.

I want the Pro version. Hurry up microsoft.

I bought one and I'm very happy about it. I love the integration with the Xbox (same with my PCs and Windows 8).

I'm using it for 3 main things:
1) At work, during meeting with Office.
2) To watch movies and this is really awesome to be able to watch a movie on my Surface and then with one click to show it on one of my 360s. It is working like a charm and I do not even need to have a streaming server. (My movie can be on my Surface SD or on the network).
3) For development. As I'm working on a indy game and we are using Microsoft .Net and technologies; Window 8 and Surface is a good choice of tablet for me.

I'm also planning to get a Pro when it comes out. Not sure why people are complaining about the price of the pro when any other Ultra PC out there or announced using an i5 are exactly in the same price range (and I think the Surface is also a very nice device on top of that).

I will be getting an i5 Surface Pro but this baby with an i7 is not bad at all (price too). I find it a bit too big tho.
