I actually did not have a problem to play as Snake in MGS 4, and I did play as Orc in Oblivion altough i didn´t enjoy too much. I don´t know any games with Alien protagonists.

I know what Andrew means. I find it hard to relate to them as well, especially if they're perfectly gorgeous as they usually are in video games... that's just distracting.
