Forums - Sony - Help a Playstation nub-New question in OP.

Uncharted 2 and 3 don't need any install because ND is a devil pact studio. Other than that, I've had to install data on most games, like, hell, if you get Bayonetta for PS3(oh god why SEGA? fu!) make sure you install the data on the HDD, you must. Also, when you play MGS4, there will be parts where you just want to murder yourself, other than that, it's not so bad?

MGS4 recently got a trophy patch. You can now also install the chapters so there is no more waiting times between them.

Great now get this game next

Is this a setup because I was looking through all the possible JRPGs on the PS3 to decide which ones to get and this was among the worst it seemed agreed unanimously by all reviewers. Now I don't really trust most reviews of JRPGs because most western reviewers just don't seem to get them, but the game's combat system genuinely looked bad (having to wait a set amount of time before initiating your next attack-I hated that in FF 13). Or maybe I'm completely wrong here. I love JRPGs but some games are just bad unfortunately.

As for everyone else who made some great suggestions, yes I'm looking forward to getting Tales of Xilia 1+2 and Ni no kuni whenever they come out in Europe. Plus I still have a relatively big back catalog to play through including but not limited to Atelier Rorona/Totori/Meruru, Hyper dimension Neptunia 1+2 (just for the gags and nothing else lol), Trinity Universe (again for the lols) and probably more when I find out and have money. Tales of Graces f is a good start though.

Wait oh crap I was thinking of White Knight Chronicles. I'll have a look at this game for sure.

Oh and new question in OP. If anyone could answer it would be great.

I like White Knight Chronicles II lol. Two games in one package for $20 is worth a try at least.

Chronicles II feels similar to Final Fantasy XII. I think most people dislike it because if you're not prepared for fighting its game over especially in dungeons.

Second question: So this one is related to downloading on PSN. I started dwnloading the Killzone 3 Multiplayer and I pressed the "Download in background". I went about browsing the PSN, playing offline games, customising my PS3 settings and after about an hour I come back and the download is still at 0%. I didn't play anything online since I don't have any MP games atm. So this time I stayed on the download screen for a few seconds and sure enough the bar started to fill and I got a few percent downloaded. It was time for me to get to my lecture, so I turned off my PS3 to resume the download when I came back, but when I opened up my PS3 this morning to resume the download, it went back to 0%. So now I have to sit on the download screen for the whole 4GB download since if I leave it restarts the whole thing from 0% next time. Mind you my internet is fibre optic with 30 Mb/s (3.9 Megabyte/s down and 1.8 Megabyte/s up as stated by the PSN test) download speed. So that's not the issue.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong here. I'm used to just letting games download in the back ground on my 360 and it just finished it at its own pace whenever the console was on and I wasn't playing online. Perhaps the PS3 does something different or there is a way to change the settings. Maybe one of you PS3 masters can help me out here.

You cant play any games if your downloading in the background cause it will pause. However you can browse the web while downloading. If your downloading something big like Killzone 3 (4GB) then I suggest to download it overnight.

when I'm downloading a big game I just let it download in the background overnight and let the system turn off automatically.

@Snake Drake and @deskpro2k3 I see thanks for the info. It sucks that the download doesn't continue when you're playing offline but it's not too big of a deal. I'll just have to remember to keep my console on overnight. It helps that the PS3 pretty much makes no noise, so I can also sleep without a storm going on in my room (the white 360s are noisy buggers).

I like the fact that White night chronicles 2 has two games packed in for a low price, but that combat system I think killed it. If there was a demo I'd give it a try, but there are much better games out there it seems on the PS3 that need buying at some point lol. Great system for exclusives for sure.
