Do you speak out of dislike for the Hitman series in general or this particular game in the series?

A hitman killed his best friend.  It's best not to talk about it.

Out of dislike for an industry which is not really interested in improving AI in games which desperately need AI and are designed to let the plaer think AI matters in the game. A non-gamer just showed us in a funny way that the AI seem to be completely absent from this game. Which makes it a terrible stealth game by default for me, but I'm sure it will get excellent scores anyway. Coolness counts, not intelligence.

I personally think good AI sometimes gets in the way of fun. If you went up against enemies who never give up searching for you, who react to every single sound and call for backup the moment something suspicious is going on, the game would really frustrating.

I see getting past a guard in Metal Gear or Hitman a bit like stomping a goomba in Super Mario, not that much of a challenge but part of the fun of the game.

He was probably playing on easy.  That's how my daughter plays Hitman: Blood Money.  Keeps the frustration down.  Me?  I thought the enemies in Hitman 2 were waaaaay too smart.  I have faith in the game.  Hopefully, it's not misplaced.  Hope you rent it or something.
