It's only because this year has been extremely lackluster. I've played the Dota 2 beta more than any other game, and really it feels like a complete game. Don't know why they just don't release it officially already.

2. PGR4 (Came out in 2007, still a best game of 2012)

Really only one great game this year, which was an old port. I haven't played anything released beyond August though.

Lol, I'm a fucking stats nerd and I have an excel sheet with all my games so I just had to filter the release year and sort them... :)

And yeah, the games have not been stellar this year, besides ME3, and so are the scores...This is of course my personal taste :)

I was thinking "Well, shogun 2 and Civ5 were pretty good games... Why no onw mention them? Ooooh... riiight" 2011 and 2010 releases:P

Since this year is not over and as a Nintendo guy the best is yet to come for me (hopefully), I can't do a complete Top 5 right now, but I'm pretty sure Borderlands 2 (PC) will make the list.

 

Edit: Oh well, list right now would be

 

1. Borderlands 2 (PC)

2. Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS)

3. Max Payne 3 (PC)

4. Sleeping Dogs (PC)

5. Uncharted: Golden Abyss (PSV)

 

But I haven't played many 2012 games. Those above are pretty much the only ones I finished.



Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
