Forums - General - Serious DBZ question: Why does everybody perfer Freiza over his brother???

Because Freiza set the standard for Dragon Ball Z fights. They hype before his appearance was immense. "Stay away from Freiza!" and then when he finally appeared, he delivered. Nameks, Vegeta, Krillin--Freiza made a fucking impact. And when he finally faced Goku, he just kept getting more and more powerful. It was like there was no way Goku was going to win.

What did Cooler do? Show up, beat up Goku for a couple of minutes, and then get his ass kicked.

Cooler does not exist that's why.

He is not from the manga and is a sideshow for a one hour  anime.

This is the same thing for Thales, the so called brother of Sangoku.

They are not from the original manga and are marginal.

Also, this.

I had a debate a long time ago, pretty much to this effect.  I can't remember exactly how it went but I think I argued that Cooler's story didn't fit into the timeline at all.  Can't remember my argument, though but it was pretty air tight.  I have to watch the movie again to refresh myself.

LOL so true Lewis xD
But still Coolers movies are absolutely badass, with some of the best hand drawn animation ive seen in my life
on the other hand, the anime visual quality was irregular episodes, the fillers ones were made by Chinese 10yr old kids or something :P

Frieza's a better character that had much more screen character and relevance. Cooler was just a wannabe in the way Turles was a Vegeta wanna.

"Supposedly the father is the strongest"

Incorrect.

Honestly the show makes no sense most of the time, there is so many plot holes. It should have ended after the Buu saga. 1 of the biggest debates in DBZ is who is the most powerful which would be Spirit Gohan. Super Buu is actually more powerful than Kid Buu but Kid Buu was more dangerous than Super Buu because he didn't care if he blew up the planet. As far as Frieza and Cooler I'd say because Cooler was in a movie that most people didn't see.

So how it works Otacon?
isnt somewhere out there a list with power levels for the whole series?

I like them both, but Freeza had more screen in DBZ main story. And the first appear of super saiyan is in Freeza story, the best and epic moment of the whole DBZ story (for me)

The reasons why there are so many plot holes in DBZ anime is because it was filled with fillers that were not in the manga. The fillers became nonsense and to help replace scenes that they took out to make sure that the episodes fill the time slot. The manga is much better with the storyline. Most of the dragonball z movies are not canon meaning that they do not fit in the dbz timeline. It was just a bonus.

I know the movies are not canon but it seems that Frieza is the younger of the brother and it seems that he was like a brat. The little kid who thinks he is the toughest and must have everything and if he doesnt get it he will throw a fit. Its apparent in the scene where he came back as frieza bot. his conversation with his father kind of portrayed him as a spoiled kid.

Even if Cooler exist as canon in the dbz timeline, it would make sense that he was the older brother and willing to spoil and give his little brother what he wants.

The reason why Frieza have such a fearsome reputation is because he's the only member of his family blowing up planets and destroy galaxy. People who sense his power will know that he is strong and fear him. It didnt seem that his father ever did any of those things even if he is more powerful than Frieza so nobody knew about it.

Wow. You guize....
This thread was meant as a troll/joke.

"Why does everyone prefer Freiza? His brother is cooler"
"His brother is cooler"
"is cooler"
"COOLER"

I totally didn't catch that. I even clicked the pic and still replied seriously. :(

Anyway, for my money, Cell's intro to his demise is the pinnacle of the series. Cell games FTW!
