Forums - Politics - America set to welcome its 51st state to the union

I've been to Puerto Rico and I can honestly say I'd prefer them over New Jersey. This would keep us at 50 stars and greatly improve America.

I'm from New Jersey and I agree.

I don't think they will become a state anytime soon. They might as well just remain a territory.  I've been to San Juan twice and I have nothing against Puerto Rico; I just don't think they really need to become a state.

Puerto Ricans have served in US military since WWI. If they want statehood, they've earned it through blood.

too bad radical right wingers are destroying america through their secession petitions.

Huh, thought it was allready a state

These referendums mean nothing, PR's status is entirely in control of the Congress.

It's no closer to statehood than it was 6 months ago, 6 years ago, or 60 years ago.
