God of War 3, Uncharted 2 and 3, MGS4, Resistance 3, and Heavy Rain look better. I would also argue games with unique art styles and cell shading are better looking in some cases like R&C: ACiT, LBP2, Journey, and soon Puppeteer but that's more just personal preference.

I agree with Uncharted 3, GOW 3 and maybe Heavy Rain, but Resistance 3 isn't a game with very good graphics. Killzone 3 is far superior, even in 3D.

Anyway, Uncharted 3 really looks amazing, specially the desert and the city on Libia. Now, people are saying that GOW3 uses tricks and is too linear too look that good, this is too far from truth. People forget that in the opening sequence it's necessary to render Kratos, almost a dozen enemies, Gaia and the other titans fighting Poseidon, including physics and the interation between them.

Oh, since it's personal preference then I'd have to say the best looking game of all time is.......Pong.

Just look at that staight line!

Amazing antialiasing here. One of the best ones I've ever seen.

Yeah I know right, completely unmatched!

This is not up for dispute, I'm just stating my opinion lol. It looks so F-ing incredible! Anyone else think its the best this console gen (so far), or is Uncarted 3 still king in your eyes? I'm hesitant to post any screen shots/comparisons because none of them do the beauty of the campaign any justice. I just want to hear from people who have actually played the game.

One things for sure, if a 360 game can look that good imagine what Metroid Prime will look like on Wii U!?!?!? *faints*

On X360 yes.  The scenery, world, guns, everything looks great.  I like how they put you behind Masterchiefs visor and make you feel like you are on a whole different planet as some of the scenery is huge.

Including PS3 you could argue between Uncharted and Halo 4.  No need on comparing as they all look good for being on consoles which are both limited.

If we are including PC not even close.

this is pretty much my opinion halo 4 and uncharted 2 really wowed me so its a tie. uncharted 3 was just more of the same quality plus does anyone else think reach was a really good looking game?

Pandemic, Origin Systems, Ubisoft, Pseudo Interactive, EA, Id Software FASA Studios, Propoganda Games, Bungie, Kojima Productions, Black Isle Studios, Gearbox Software, 3D Realms, ION Studios, Treyarch, Guerilla Games, Sony Santa Monica, Edge of Reality, Midway Games, Timegate Studios, Tryptych Studios, Turn 10, Rare, Pixar, BioWare, Bethesda Softworks,  Valve, Weta Digital, EA Redwood Shores, McFarlane Toyes, Microsoft Game Studios, EA Los Angeles, Monolith, Hidden Path Entertainment, Raven Software, EA Chicago, Liquid Dragon Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Activision, Namco, Animal Logic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, EA Blackbox, Kuju Entertainment, Rockstar Games, Autodesk, Valkyrie Entertainment, Wandering Samurai Studios, n-Space, EA Tiburon, Glitchless, Industrial Light and Magic, Atari, Square Enix, Marvel, 2K Marin, Crystal Dynamics, Neversoft Entertainment, Paradox Development, Leftfield Productions, Disney Interactive Studios, Backbone Entertainment, Unique Development Studios, Idol Minds, Artech Studios, Retro Studios, Bluepoint Games, Good Science, Sony Online Entertainment, Killspace Entertainment, Vivendi Universal, Mirror Images, Swolecat Studios, ArenaNet, Hourglass Games, LeadingMD, queSPECK Studios, AT&T, ATI, Koei Canada, inXile Entertainment

Let's be honest, any studio compromised of talent from all those studios (Most were senior staff at their old locations) was going to end up with enough industry experience to make this game a gem, and they certainly did.

And many of the team built DX11 and DX12 foundation.

There's people commenting here that haven't seen the game moving, and are comparing their experiences of games they have played (moving) on the PS3 to draw silly comparisons.

Comparing this to Heavy Rain as a few have done is an insult. Heavy Rain is not a pretty game. In terms of technical level, Halo 4 is undeniably the best console game this gen. It's up there with Uncharted 2 and 3 but has open spaces and freedom and no trickery to hide hardware shortcomings.

It's just good honest amazing quality.

Finally an exclusive like PS3 owners have been enjoying.

LOL.

I agree. Its something beautiful.

DF had this to say.

" In an era where the likes of Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica have defined the graphical state-of-the-art with Uncharted and God of War, Xbox 360 finally has its own shot at the title - and it's a genuinely worthwhile, lavish and occasionally even breathtaking experience."

So even technically its up there with a genuine shout.

Genuinely noone can knock anyone down for saying Halo 4 best visuals. It has every right to have that label or at least fight for it.

To me its lighting is truly unmatched even by the late Forza Horizon. Everything is Epic, well textured and filled with detail.

Awesome.

DF also said =
"Remember that feeling you had when playing the first 20 minutes of God of War 3 for the first time? The sensation that the developers had somehow extracted next-gen visuals from current gen hardware? While Halo 4 doesn't quite engender that feeling of hushed awe, it gets very, very close"

So yeah. Not "quite" there!

You know whats ironic. A Multiplat game such as Battlefield 3 is on par with Halo 4 with the Texture Pack

I'm saying your opinion is wrong. Not up for dispute.

Your misusing the words. It doesnt mean its not quite there against GOW3 ( which cannot compete with Halo 4 lighting and scale. )

They are refferring very clearly to te first time you saw GOW3 first 20 mins. Things ave moved on since then. We are used to high lighting and seamless visuals now. But even in todays graphical environment Halo 4 still nearly manages that same feeling of 2009. If anything that comment is showing halo 4 is there and then some.

It doesnt mean its not quite to GOW3 LOL. altough GOW3 is my fave graphics on PS3 over Uncharted and Killzone.
