Forums - Sony - Holding the Sixaxis

Depends on the game I guess. If you want to fly in Warhawk for example, you'll need a finger on each of the shoulder buttons.

Still, I was used to the R2 and L2 buttons after getting Motorstorm. My gripe with the triggers is that it would be even easier if they were curved in rather than out, but also that they have some resistance when you pull them down so racing games (like Motorstorm) get a little tiresome on your finger from trying to hold down the trigger at all times.

I agree with this 100%. Convex triggers are the biggest design flaw with the sixaxis. There is absolutely no logic to it whatsoever. I'm amazed that no one at Sony realised this before releasing it, as every single person I know that has used it says the exact same thing. When you constantly hold down the triggers (i.e. in Motorstorm) you have to keep re-adjusting your fingers to stop them slipping. It's not the only thing that should be changed either, but that's a different story.

Me apparently.  I was pretty sure I knew how to wipe my ass, but now I'm questioning that also.

I never had any problems in Motorstorm, maybe I just play too much o_O. the only problem I have had with my SIXAXISs was that the battery life seems too short. I dunno why, but its kindof annoying when I'm playing Resistance and the controller dies on me in the middle of a huge gunfight =P

Unless you're playing 24 hours straight, have you ever thought about charging the controller when you're not using it? I don't do a whole lot of long play sessions, but I can usually go a whole week of playing before I charge the controller. Seeing as it's a USB controller, you could easily plug it into your PC if you don't want to leave your PS3 on to charge it (which is nice if you have the sixaxis driver and want to play a NES emulator or something). Also, you could buy some cheap USB extension cables as well from a place such as newegg.com. I should have went with 10-15 foot ones, but I bought a couple of 6 foot ones a couple of weeks ago (mainly to have just incase and to try out keyboard and mouse on the PS3).

I usually do, but sometimes when I get going, I play for a good 8 hours on a full charge and even when the battery is supposedly full, I have to switch out the controllers sometimes. maybe it just has a shorter battery life than I thought.

Perhaps something is up with your battery then, I have more than 8 hours on my controller and it's on 3 bars still.

both of them do that... bummer, maybe I should look into some DS3 when they come out... or putting my PS3 in a more PS3- friendly place.

I always rest my index finger on the little bar of plastic in between the R/L 1 and R/L 2 buttons. Then I hit each as needed by simply moving my fingers up or down.
