'Casual' is not an insult, we have to treat casual gamers with love, they will rule the world.

well, here is what i'm thinking:

casual: people that like to play games just for fun, not more than 3 hours a week
- including kids aged 10 - including older people or anyone

hard-core gamer are: people that are maniacs, spending quite a lot of hours on games, and buying lot of games.......usually they have nothing else to do.... :p
- people aged mainly 15-20 or even more.....


so, all in all, casual means looking for fun or exercising, hard-core, means you play games like a maniac, acting like maniac......(sony-microsoft fanboys)

Nope, I don't think it's an insult. I'd be happy to be called a casual gamer... I've been called worse!

I really just facepalm every time someone declare themselves to be a hardcore gamer. Especially when the term hardcore justs mean playing shooters or mature games, instead the level of skill required in playing a game. But yeah, nowadays, you'll be ridiculed if you call yourself as such.

I don't think either term is an insult. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer or a casual gamer. It just depends on the mood I'm in, and what game I need to beat.

I think people use the term derisively.. Maybe an old person who plays Wii Sports every once in a while would be ok but it doesn't make sense to call long-term Nintendo fans casual gamers.
