And some of us like to have permanent access to their games.

Don't be a party pooper.

By the time your PS Plus subscription ends, you would have beaten those games already. Anyway if you really like your PS+ game collection, keep paying the $50 a year. Simple as that. If you don't have anything to contribute to this thread, get out.

Honestly as a person who has just gotten PS Plus for the first time ever I would have to be a maniac to not renew my subscription. So much content for such a small price.

How did I not contribute? It's fact that you lose access to those free games when you stop paying, there are people who don't like that. I have a PS3 and  do not have a PS+ subscription, if it such an awesome service and a no brainer, why do I not subscribe? I tell you why. Because in my personal cost benefit analysis it's not worth binding myself to a service like this for a bunch of old bargain bin games. And if you want me to get out, say please.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I got plus too less then a month ago. There was a free month with the Journey collection and I wanted to buy Tokyo Jungle. I really should have signed up sooner. The discounts alone on all the psn titles I have bought would have easily paid for the subscription.

I'm currently catching up on Outland, Borderlands and Infamous 2 from psn+.

Now I've got to decide if I want the $20 cash back promotion. It's until the end of October, spend $100, get $20 back. PS+ subscriptions count towards the total as well. Since I just bought the Unfinished swan that would leave $25.02 to spend. Machinarium looks good, any suggestions for the last $15.03?

This post is just me boasting about how AMAZING PS Plus is.

Alright I literally got PS Plus for the first time 10 minutes ago (I've had a PS3 for almost 4 years). I NEVER realized how much content you could get for free. I paid 18$ for 3 months and have already gotten 80$ worth of content for FREE. I'm sorry but if you are an avid Playstation gamer and you don't have PS Plus then you should be ashamed of yourself (lol). Seriously though, does Xbox live offer anything else other than the ability to play online? I'm not trying to start a hate thread but I just simply can't understand why someone would choose Xbox Live over PSN. I'm so mad that I missed out on the Red Dead Redemption thing for September. Just got inFamous 2 so I guess I'll be fine =P.  Does anyone know if they offer these amazing games for free every month? Like for example I know in September it was Red Dead and I'm guessing this month it's inFamous. PS PLUS IS THE GREATEST.

I love you all. (yes homo)

Because XBL has proven to be superior over PSN.  Messages, inviting friends, party chats, avatars, etc is all that makes XBL better.  I'm not saying PSN is bad, but it's not as good as XBL either.  A good free service would be steam which does many things as good as XBL but better sometimes too.  Why I don't care about PSN+ is because the content that they have I simply do not want.  What I want I buy and I get it earlier when I buy it myself.  I want Journey, so I buy it, I'm not going to wait for PSN+ to offer it.

I guess it all depends on what you prefer. Myself for instance, I personally do not care about things such as avatars or themes. To me it's all about the games, discounts and the exclusive/early access to betas. But I do get where you are coming from. I myself would like if PS3 could have party chat but that's already been said to never be available. Hopefully PS4 has it. I wasn't trying to bash Xbox Live I'm just not very knowledgable on what sort of content it offers to members.

If you don't have both then I don't believe you should be shouting that PSN+ is the best.  And yes PS4 should have party chats, or at least cross game chat.  PSN needs to fix its messaging system, inviting friends, and a more accessible online dashboard that you can access at all times.  I know some people prefer free online like the person above me but Sony, Microsft, and Nintendo does have to pay for the servers we use so I dont mind giving 5 dollars a month for an online service whether it's to PSN or XBL.  XBL is very successful so I wouldn't doubt if PSN+ is mandatory next gen but who knows, it's also a good marketing tactic keeping it free.  Really though if you haven't tried steam, try it.  It's free and knocks PSN out of the park.

I should have added "in my opinion" to the thread haha =P. I have tried steam and attempted at playing some games, however my computer isn't the best and can barely run most of the games available.

Haha Yeah that's understandable.  No need in having steam if your cmputer can't run it.  For me I don't care for PSN+ because I've never cared for PSN titles.  I loved Fat Princess when it came out and logged a lot of hours into it, Journey is another great title but nothing else is appealing to me.  For the people that it appeals to though I'm sure it's a great service.

The bolded is just opion that the xbox guys have been trying to pass of as fact for years now. But considering the Vita has everything the xbox does, you really can't say live is better than PSN. Because it's not.  And if you would have had PSplus you could have got a discount on Journey day one.

Well I'm not really an xbox guy but pretty much everybody I know will choose XBL over PSN.  And yes part chats are that important.  As far as the Vita I can not say anything about it because I don't own it so maybe it is improved on there.  I don't care about getting a discount on Journey day 1 because I'm sure I'd be spending more on PSN+?  As I said before PSN titles are just not my thing.  For the people who do like them, great deal, just not for me.

How can you say old bargain bin games when they are offering titles such as inFamous 2, Red Dead Redemption, Resident Evil 5, Payday The Heist and Little Big Planet 2? Last time I checked those were all critically praised games (maybe not RE5) which have each sold millions of copies.

I think what he means is he probably already owns those games if he wanted them.  Bargain bin doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad game.  Metal Gear Solid 4 is also a bargain bin game and it's one of my favorite games of all time.  And yes RE5 was critically praised.  it got  an 84 which is pretty decent, InFamous 2 actually has a lower metacritic than RE5, so if you're considering that one as praised then so is RE5

Well I've been on both services and i can tell you first hand that one isn't really better than the other. There's good and bad on both, and yes the vita is an improvement over the ps3 because it has the ram to deal with extra stuff like cross game chat.  And with dual login ( i can be on both at the same time ) i can use cross game chat while playing a ps3 game. It's more than just discounts on PSN game, it's on just about everything in the store, including ps1 and ps2 games and ps3 games. It you paid your 50 for the year and buy a good amount off PSN it would pay for it's self, while giving you "free" games and beta access and full game trails, not to mention 1 gig of could saved data and auto downloads. It's well worth the money, hell I waste more than 50 a year on games that i end up not liking, I'm sure we've all done that.
