Why did they call the Wii the Wii? Same goes here they are strengthening their brand.

If you are trying to say what I think you are trying to say, that still wouldn't stop them from calling it Wii 2, or something similar.

I think the name is good and my reaction to it was more positive than the time when they revealed the Wii. Wii 2 is typical Sony and Nintendo is more inventive than just adding a number and call it a day so they came up with something that includes you as well as us so Wii U sounds perfect and easy to use and recognize. people might actually call it the U later on

"Oh you know I just got the U. I love playing Call of Duty on U."

The name is unique sounding and therefore difficult (impossible?) to confuse with other products -- video games or otherwise. Plus its so odd that people will talk endlessly about it.

In other words, mindshare. Lots and lots of mindshare.

Isn't Nintendo losing money? Not too sure so don't quote me on that but I thought they were going downhill.

Yeah, they recently posted their first loss since entering the gaming business. They probably have some money left though :P

I like the name Wii U, if you want to sound cooler, refer to it as "The U". "Hey dawg, I got the ps4, what you gamin on my nizzle?" "Yo playa you know I'm all up ons The U!" See how strong that just came.
