So, most people agree Romney won the first debate. What do you think of the 2nd debate? Did Obama bring his A game? Any memorable moments? Did it sway your opinion for either of the candidates?

Came back from the future just now to tell you Obama made Romney cry. Never seen a guy so vicious
Sadly going to miss this one.
I hear Obama is supposed to bring back the Bain Capital arguement. Seems like a mistake considering how even moderate democrats made their distance last time he did that.
Just shows how worried the Obama campaign suddenly is.

I think this debate should be interesting ...
I agree with a few analysts who have suggested that Biden (may have) telegraphed the attack strategy that Obama will probably use in this debate; and I also agree with others that Obama will be probably be fairly aggressive in order to compensate for his poor performance in the last debate.
Ultimately, I think both candidates should be able to handle the substance of the debate but I think Romney may have a substantial advantage in controlling the optics of the debate being that he (probably) has a very good idea of what Obama will throw at him. He may be able to address and diffuse attacks before they are made, and focus more effort on increasing his likeability; and if Obama over-corrects and impacts his own likeability Romney may be able to benefit from it.

One problem for either candidate being agressive this time is that it is a town hall format. So, for the most part, they are going to be adressing specific audience members. Pivoting from answering somebodies question to attacking the opponent can be hard in this format because the politician could come of looking like they are attacking the town hall questioner.
Either way, I think that Obama benefits from lower expectations than he did before. However, he let romney get close so people are going to be paying close attention to both of them. This debate may be the defining moment of this election since the last debate got all the undecided's attention. If one of the candidates pulls off a superior performance, they may just grab the momentum for the rest of the campaign.

good thing debate converage is going to be everywhere for the next week, I'm sure you will hear your fill :)
If Obama brings back his Bain attacks, I think it will be a big mistake. If he brings that up in Romney's presence were he can instantly rebut it, I think Obama will come off looking desperate. At least to me.
There is a lot to not like about Romney, but his record at Bain capitol is actually one of the nicest things he has going for him. He took over troubled companies and made them profitable again, if anything, it will give romney the oppurtunity to present himself as a turnaround specialist, something I think would resonate with a lot of Americans.
Now, if Obama attacked Romney's record as governor, then I could see some blows being landed there. Not a lot to like about Romneys term as governor.

Nah...Bain Capital is moving Sensa Tech jobs from the US to China. In fact, Bain forced the factory to take down the US flag and fly the Chinese flag, as well as force the employees to train their Chinese counterparts.
The company has been profitable, in fact posting record profits last year. Yet it isn't enough money for Bain Capital.
Worse, when employees from Sensa Tech went to talk to Mitt Romney about it, his campaign had the people arrested.
I don't think it's a bad thing for Obama to bring up. While Romney isn't head of Bain now, it illustrates the company he worked for and what he did while he worked for them. It also illustrates how much Romney is willing to hear out people negatively impacted by the loss of their jobs (they will technically lose their jobs the day before the election). If you aren't willing to give a few people a moment of your time just to hear them out and listen to them, than how are you going to do it as a president? Gone are the days of the compassionate conservative.

wow, that is quite the example there, also quite the misinformation.
First of all, how does what Bain does now have anything to do with Romney? He left the company 12 years ago. That is a long time, and it is ridiculous to attack Romney on something that he has nothing to do with.
Second of all, the protesters were not arrested for trying to talk to Romney, they were arrested for stopping a truck from leaving the plant in illinois. How you combined those arrests with Romney are beyond me.
Thirdly, Obama is probably in a much better position to do something about this then Romney. Since Sensata's biggest client is GM which the government owns a large part of. If Obama really cared, he could have stopped this action through GM, but he didn't do anything.
So, much like all the other Bain attacks I have seen, this example cherry picks a single case. This time it doesn't even have anything to do with Romney. How can you cherry pick one case and say, "this is what Bain does" while ignoring the fact that Bain has helped the majority of the companies it invests in recover and grow?
I'm not a Romney or an Obama supporter here, however the Bain attacks are garbage and should be tossed out as such. Focus on Romney's record as governor or his plans for the presidency. There is plenty of ammunition there.

like I said to kasz, I'm sure you'll hear more than enough about it over the week. Plus, you can always just watch it later...
OT: half an hour till debate time!
