No we don't know if and by how much it's overtracked. That's why it's speculation. Again, speculation has always been very prevelant on this site. If you don't like speculation then you can just leave the site altogether. No, we cannot speak in absolutes. Yes, there are plenty of possibilities. We can only look at the data and make judgements on which seems the most likely, but unfortunately, because of some people in this thread, they don't want to see any discussion as it could potentially mean their franchise would be knocked down by a tiny bit. It's sad. It would be nice if when interesting information like this releases, that threads could have meaningful discussions with people from all sides bringing in different ideas that we could all consider, but no...as soon as some people do bring out different ideas and explanations, they have to simotaneously resort to flaming and perpetuating this childish console war (not talking about you). Thus forming an us-against-them mentality and rendering any discussion of the subject impossible. |
@Jay520 : calm down, no reason to be angry

I agree with you that the point in this thread should be elsewhere, and indeed MS are making a very general statement that is not worth being analyzed in detail (except for those who would like to seize the occasion to label Halo overtracked - that will probably remain as one of the many sterile debates @VGC)
I wonder if MS is not simply addressing retail here... I mean, a front selling game is the perfect occasion for retail to be either make huge margins or miss the opportunity for not having enough supply... and MS would here be trying to push distribution into takings risks so Halo 4 gets all the retail presence it can use.
