Supposedly the church is struggling with a divide between the more liberal Vatican II generation within the church, and the more conservative generation appointed by John Paul II and Benedict XVI, with the church divided on its mission of faith-justice versus the social conservative causes

The Vatican contains some of the world's greatest mysteries and most valuable treasures, historical manuscripts and art works that have been covered up by the Church. The Catholic Church are notorious for covering things up: widespread Priest pedophilia cover ups, terrorism/criminal activities and an infamous Pope assisted Hitler during WWII by turning a blind eye to Nazi war crimes.

That last one is actually decididly untrue if you do research into it.
