More Future Talk From Japan's Big Producers

Team Persona focused on next numbered game, Team Kagura's boob guy wants to use Wii U's special functionality. And so forth.

This week's Famitsu has the third installment in a series of interviews with top producers and directors from the Japanese games industry. As with the previous installments, the feature is full of little insights about future game plans.

Here's a summary of what's leaked out from the magazine so far:

Team Persona's Katsura Hashino says that his staff is currently focused on the next numbered entry in the Persona series (that means Persona 5). Shigenori Soejima has submitted sketches, and the game is making progress. Separately from P5, Hashino says that he's working on a collaborative project that will surprise everyone, but the announcement for this is a ways off.

Marvelous Entertainment's Kenichiro Takaki, massive breast producer of Senran Kagura, says that there are plans for Senran Kagura outside of just an anime. He also says that he feels an idea he has for using the Wii U's functionality could totally work, although this is just in his head right now. Takaki promises to work hard to continue making games that make you say "they've made another game that makes no sense."

Marvelous Entertainment's Yoshifumi Hashimoto, non massive breast producer of the Harvest Moon games, says that Rune Factory 4 was well received, and they've already decided to make the next installment. He also says that he wants to make a totally original title and is making preparations for this.

Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi says to expect an announcement regarding the future of the Sengoku Basara series at an upcoming event.

5pb's Shikura Chiyomaru says that he's currently working on two games. A game set in Shibuya will be released in 2013. It would be ideal to be able to release the fourth game in the science adventure series in Spring of next year too. Chiyomaru also says that he's putting effort in porting his games over to smartphones.

---------------

Well, since I won't own a PS3, I hope Persona is either for portables or Wii U - even though chances for both are not that great..

And, sorry for the pun, MARVELOUS for Rune Factory. Great that a game that hasn't even reached a month in sales being is greenlighted for a sequel!

I could see P5 coming out for the PS3, WiiU and Vita.

Persona 5 would be a game worth buying the WiiU for. The game that has me dead set on buying the 3DS is MegaTen 4.

Persona 5 could go mutliplat WiiU & PS3 + PSVita (as a controller) but in either case I wan to see these guys exploring the possibilities of split screens, asymmetrical gaming etc

Wii U has a chance... but very thin, imo to get a port.

But Vita... I don't think so. I mean, I will get it's remastered port sometime, but probably it's still a long way away. I can't see a day 1 version.

I would like Rune Factory 4 to come over to America first.
