When I was in my early 30s, after a life of debauchery, alcoholism, and heavy drug use I woke up in a hotel bed covered in needles and beer bottles. I snorted a line off of the dead hooker next to me and I heard a voice from above. I was told I needed to change my ways, turn my life around, stop hurting people and start helping. I saw a book in the hotel dresser drawer left by the Gideons, a Bible, the word of God.
In rehab I read the book cover to cover and back again and again and again. I soon joined a seminary to learn how to spread the good word. After many years of studying I became an apprentice in Chicago to shadow a priest and teach Sunday School. He felt I was done and I received an offer from the Church in this fine city to preach at. I arrived a day early so I checked into this hotel before going to join my new church in the morning. But alas I can not leave this hotel until the evil is banished.
