Forums - General - I just messed up my MacBook Pro, a "No Sign" appears at the start.

So, I got a new Macbook, I wanted to format it, I messed up, a no sign appears at the start, there are no CDS and I'm clueless about Mac... any help?

Restart from the OS DVD. Insert the DVD and while booting up press ALT (I think) and then select to boot with the DVD instead of the laptop. Then install the OS again from scratch.

 

Edit: actually, I think you need to press C.

There is no DVD, apparently it's new and had some backup inside or something.

No OS dvd? I don't know then. I'd say you need one if you f'd up in a major way.
