Forums - Gaming - Bleszinski: Fortnite on PC 'primary and first,' other platforms not ruled out

Having announced Fortnite as Epic Games' first Unreal Engine 4 game, "exclusively for the PC," Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski took to Twitter this afternoon to make some breathing room. "We wouldn't rule out the possibility of other platforms later," he wrote. That is, while Fortnite will be "primary and first" on PC, it may not be exclusive to the platform forever.

Given that Fortnite is built using UE4, it stands to reason that those "other platforms" won't be of the current generation (none of Microsoft's, Sony's, or Nintendo's current hardware can run UE4-based games). What might they be, then? We'll have to wait until the next console generation to find out, it sounds like.

Interesting, I thought Fortnite was announced as multiplayer when it was first announced? Still looking forward to it, even though it's not really the best title to showcase the UE4...

I love how Epic is back from their "I love Microsoft" tour.
They love Smartphones cause they can do other things there and now they are even back on PC cause they want to use their new technology.
This is the way to go - Next Gen they hopefully go directly Multiplat with all their titles that aren't Gears(they are probably forced to make another 289 Trilogies).
Would love to play their stuff on PC cause they obviously want to try different things. The Smartphone game what they did was pretty good and was in my opinion much better than the whole Gears Franchise.
And these days PC Gaming is on a rise anyway - Its possible to make money there again.Remedy,DICE etc showed it with Alan Wake,Battlefield and so on.
And if you want extra cash bring the stuff to console > People are happy to pay 70 bucks for new games there even if you can get the stuff for 40 on PC.

In other words PC gamers get to beta test the game
