Not sold? Try this on for size: Rare's also rumoured to be working on a next gen FPS.

Why, whyyy?

MS have probably the second biggest FPS IP on the market.  I sort of understand Sony, trying to make that killer FPS that sells millions so they put a few studios on it (and still haven't found it yet).

But Microsoft are there.  They have a huge fps IP.  Why do they need another one?  And how are they going to make it?  Realistic and modern like every other third-party FPS out there?  Sci-fi and futuristic like Halo already is?  WWII like the whole of last generation?

It's a shame their attempts at more interesting games (Viva Pinata) didn't do so well.  A studio working on games like that for Microsoft full-time would do them a lot of good, in my opinion.

Uff.  Good luck to Rare.  I hope you make another Perfect Dark, but I fear that ship has sailed.

Perhaps they want Rare to make a more... fantastic FPS. After all, most of Rare's titles are less realistic than other titles. That might be MS's logic - FPS is so popular, but there are people who don't play the modern FPS games... hey, maybe it's because they like more colour, not because they want experiences that aren't FPSes.

That isn't to say that I think they'd make a good one. MS destroyed Rare, they're a shadow of their former self. They haven't truly made a stand-out title since about 2002.

Rare will never be the same.

Rare is such garbage, Over the years I have been hyped about them possibly making sequals to some of my favorite games or atleast remakes but alas I lost hope. RARE your garbage

Free 2 Play will be the scorge of marketing/sales getting their mits on game design and sucking out all the fun
