Highly unlikely. Besides, I think it would be cool if MS kills the Halo franchise and brings back Master Chief as the protagonist in a remake of the Marathon series.

New enemies, new weapons, new everything. I don't know if they picked up the rights to the Marathon series from Bungie or not, though.

Let Halo slowly die, MS. Halo Wars is not a bad idea but the Master Chief story is done in that era. Bring him back in a future setting.

Anyway, I hope the announcement is something worthwhile. I hate getting excited about BIG announcements, only to be let down when it's not anything big (stating the obvious...)
