I agree, I didn't enjoy halo 2's campaign lol, halo 3's was deff a step up from 2.

I didn't really enjoy the campaign the first time through... One day I was bored and started replaying it on legendary... and i fell in love. It's a much better (though 1000x harder) game on legendary.

I think what really turned me off to the game were the Arbiter levels, don't ge tme wrong they were interesting but I just wanted to play as the master chief.

Yeah its harder in a cheap way though.:S

Actually, I agree 100%. What was so engrossing in Halo:CE was that you WERE the chief. Virtually no cutscenes, you learned the story through your own eyes, characters talked to you. Switching characters made it feel more like a game, than an experience.

Yep, couldn't have worded it any better. :p

I really don't see a huge benefit in a Halo 2 remake vs what they did with Combat Evolved.

CE was beloved, was the first and really put Bungie and the Xbox on the map. Halo 2 is known for it's multiplayer (of which most maps are already available on Halo 3 and Reach) and how it expanded the story of the trilogy. Those don't really seem like compelling reasons to do it, especially when a new trilogy is going to be in full swing starting in 5 months. I agree with Phil Spencer said, it's time to look forward.

I like halo 2s better then halo 3s myself. Halo 3 took bout an hour for me. While halo 2 I kept playing. I beat halo 2 on all difficulties just to see what kind of difference each difficulty made. Legendary was a hurdle especially during the banshee parts.

I bought the first one and so I will buy this one as well.

In a recent interview with Attack of the Fanboy, 343 Industries quickly debunked the rumor about Halo 2 Anniversary possibly being in development, as rumored by OXM Magazine. It’s quite unfortunate, considering the amount of buzz the little rumor sent across the internet. Here’s the quote from the interview, debunking the rumor.

Q: The E3 demos for Halo 4 looked fantastic, but they made me want to replay the other numbered Halo games. With the great job 343 did with the HD remastering of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, is there a chance we will see Halo 2 HD before the end of this console generation? Maybe a Halo Trilogy pack to promote the new saga? Pretty please?

343 Industries: We are not working on that at this time. We are kind of busy.

Is there still hope that an Anniversary edition of Halo 2 will come out in the future? Sure, with Halo Anniversary selling 1.5 million copies and counting, I can’t see a reason why Microsoft and 343 wouldn’t jump on an HD rendition of Halo 2. I myself would love to own the entire franchise (up to 4) on one console. However, many fans across Reddit and forums around the net are simply calling for Microsoft to re-relesae Halo 2 on the XBL Marketplace, untouched and with multiplayer capabilities.

Guess I can safely jump on Halo 2, having finished Halo Anniversary last night. I have to say, that driving sequence at the end has to be one of the most frustrating things I've ever encountered in a video game. Holy shit, that was terrible.

Halo 2 followed by ODST and finally Halo 3. Then, I should be ready for Halo 4 this Christmas.

LOL, most people felt that was one of the best parts of the game when it first came out.  That's awesome.

Are you a fan of Joss Whedon's Firefly?  If so, there's a chance you may love ODST as much as I did.  Then again, Firefight with friends was a big part of that too.  The characters in that game just have such an awesome camradarie that so different than all of the other games.

Really?, that was one of my fav parts lol :D. Myself and my gf played the whole game on co op, when we got to that driving part at the end. we made it to the ship with just 2 secs left on the timer, the rush was just EPIC. We talked about it for days after :D. (Note: this was back when Halo CE first came out on the original xbox).

When I played Halo 3, that part at the end when we escaped the exploding Halo while riding a Warthog was one of the highlights of 2007.  When I found out that it mirrored the end of Halo 1, I said to myself, "That is so awesome." Fast forward to last night when I played Anniversary.

  • I got into the Warthog, there was an explosion, I fell out of the vehicle, the Warthog rolled over me and I died.  Okay...
  • Next time, we do it differently.  Tried it again.  Me and my partner both had our own Warthogs.  He got too far ahead of me and my Wartho disappeared.  I was trying to run to the end while he raced to the end in the Warthog.  No luck.  I died and he died.
  • Tried it again.  After going through all of the terrain that was obviously designed for a Warthog to NOT drive through, we made it to the ship that was going to pick us up.  We were riding in the same vehicle.  The ship came to pick us up but it promplty exploded   Time ran out and we died.
  • We tried it again.  This time, we ignore the ship, have to make this jump at full speed, miss the jump, and the Warthog tips over and kills us both.
  • It went on like this for almost an hour!  We'd almost make it to the ship only to have time run out.  On one of the last runs, we just sat there in the Warthog, to stupid to jump out while the timer ran out.  We just kept trying to ride over this one last obstacle when we were supposed to ditch the vehicle and run on foot!

When we finally got it right, we felt like champions but I wanted to break that disc in half more than once.  Never again, Halo Anniversary.  Never again.
