Some analyst have been predicting around the 200 million mark which would be a great achievement for the Gaming Industry. Here is what I think.

Wii 95 million+ Ps3 75million+ X360 50million. That would be 220 million consoles this generation.

I think last generation was Ps2 115million(still selling well)+Xbox 24million+Gamecube 22million. That only equals 161million.

So what do you think the number of consoles will be sold this generation.

300 million or greater because Wii will open up the gaming community plus this will be first generation with China included.

Wii: 110m
Xbox 360: 45m
PS3: 45m
Total: 200m

When do they start selling in China.

 I would have to say 200 million would be around the money if the balance board is a huge success, with other games other than wii-fit

With "non-gamers" buying Wiis, home theater guys buying ps3s, etc. I think that the industry will grow quite a bit over this generation.

I think the industry will at least hit the 200 mil. mark, and could possibly get as high as 250 mil. units sold total.

I think things will end up something like this:

360: 40-50 mil.
PS3: 65-80 mil.
Wii: 100-120 mil.

You guys are way overestimating china's role in this generation.

but in 50 years or so, AND if china's gonvernment changes, China will be the biggest gaming market in the world.

right now, china has little effect on this current gaming market.

Let me look around for Pachter's briefcase... here it is, 2012:

PS3 - 90 million
360 - 70 million
Wii - 160 million

It all depends if Apple comes in later... I'd say 300 million no Apple... Probably Apple will join in next gen.

if it sells over 200 million the industry expanded. Sells less it didnt.
