No because what they'll be able to do like 360 and PS3 is come a lot closer to replicating the performances of high end PC's than the Wii U so that the next Fallouts, Half-Lifes, SkyRims, Modern Warfare etc, won't look like total crap as they would have looked on Wii for a fraction of the cost on PS4 and Nextbox.  High End consoles are mass market items ( see the fact that 360 and PS3 combined sold well over half the number of consoles sold this gen ) while high end gaming pcs aren't.

He makes some really valid points, I never thought about ZombiU not looking so good because Ubisoft won't put their best team in a new project for a new console.

I agree that the conference won't determine if the system is good or not, but unfortunately for most people first impressions are the most important thing, since it didn't look amazing from day 1 them they will start bashing the console and not look the positives things about the system

Nintendo and PC gamer

This sounds like trying to find the good side in everything type of thing.

Just seems that Nintendo will never offer mature IPs like zombieU. The thing about humans is that we breed fast :P...meaning tons of new kids Nintendo can market to.

But unfortunately, when you grow up, Nintendo just seems to have your priorities as a adult gamer sidelined for the next generation of kids.

My two cents

Listen Canadian.

When I was a stripling I played me some Turok, and before that I played me some Mortal Kombat, and before that I played me some Hogan's Alley.

The fact of the matter is, appreciation for Gears-like properties isn't really tied into your age. Neither is Mario, insofar as that goes. Mario isn't just for kids - it's for you, too, if you will but pick it up.

the sad thing is that a lot of so called core gamers feel like that

Whats with the italicized Canadian? I get the vibe your talking down to me cause of my nationality.....

Turok and Mortal Kombat arent Nintendo made games. My point, which you only reinforced, is that Nintendo is a kids company first, and uses 3rd parties for the adult gamer.

Ive heard the Mario isnt tied to age argument so many times but fact is when the majority of Nintendos 1st party IP's are played by children, you know they dont have adult gamers in their mind.

They may be core games, but not "mature core games" like ZombieU. Im sorry if I am at a place in my life where I want a mature look along with characters and plot. Nintendo just doesnt deliever that.

Thats why their E3 was the worst in my eyes...their games are meant for the tweens of today, not the ones of yesterday (us).

Maybe adults who play Nintendo 1st party games try to cling to their youth as a way of feeling young and escape the responsibilities of daily life. I dont know, but what I do know is that mentality is not for me.

Nothing sad about it. Theres one thing making games for "everybody" but its quite another that Nintendo is the only one of the big 3 that doesnt cater to adult gamers first. Like I said to the other guy: Aesthetic, plot and character development. 3 things a 1st party Nintendo franchise will never have in one game.

Not trying to bash Nintendo. Thing is they have a plan and they know who their market is. That market however just doesnt include people like me. I get the vibe people get defensive when their favourite games are labelled kiddy. If your uncomfortable with playing what society would think is weird for an adult, then thats something you gotta change or deal with. If your comfortable with it, then there shouldnt be a problem with the difference in opinion.

We bought PS3's after their 2006 Conference because of the big core games that we knew we're coming to the console and believed to be exclusives like Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy XIII and hopefully FFVII HD, Grand Theft Auto IV, and successful Sony ips like God of War and the next games from Insomniac, Naughty Dog, and SuckerPunch. There's no indication that Nintendo's going to be able to get all of the biggest name third party games, they didn't even show off one huge third party core exclusive at their conference ( ZombiU doesn't count as it's only Red Steel Wii U -- and there's some indication that it's going multi), that Nintendo's lineup is going to in any way have the same variation of games that were slated to be coming to the PS3, and quite a bit of Nintendo's conference showed that Nintendo still very much favors the casuals and is only interested in having as many core gaming fans as they can get by only shoving out the umpteenth Mario game.

Most people don't buy Nintendo conosles for the third party games though, they buy them for the NINTENDO games. And obviously Wii U is going to get them...

And anyway how do you know Nintendo won't get the big third party games? A little presumptuous considering it's the first E3 in which Nintendo showed Wii U games, and still months before launch.

Because most of the Third Party games like Gears of War V from Epic will be geared toward consoles capable of replicating high end PC specs, and like the Wii since the Wii U's only a step up from this gen, it won't be capable of producing games to those specs like PS4 and Nextbox.

Again, how do know this? How do you know Wii U couldn't handle Gears 5? How do you know MS and Sony's console specs will be lightyears beyond Wii U? The economy is in the crapper, and Sony in particular is hemoraging money. I doubt they could afford top of the line consoles with specs that much higher than Wii U, unless risking further losses and possibly irriversible damage to the companies.

I still don't get, just what are people expecting to see out of PS4 and Nextbox's graphics? Explain it to me. I litterally can't see how graphics can get much better at this point, at least not worth the admission of $400-$500 for a brand new console, plus controllers.

lol i didnt feel attacked at all, dont worry

"Aesthetic, plot and character development"
if you are looking for that in a game you should ditch gaming and stick to the film industry

"Thing is they have a plan and they know who their market is"
every company in the world falls under that description

"That market however just doesnt include people like me."
Nintendo games cater to all audiences, you are indeed included...

you sound soooo biased dude, you should work on that aspect, if you want to be a respectable member of the gaming community xD

that mentality is what is killing videogames, transforming them into interactive movies full of eyecandy nonsense
and that makes me feel sad.

Try using the quote icon next time

Stick to the film industry? So whats wrong with asking for that in video games? And MS and Sony offer that so I merely ask why cant Nintendo? Whats with the strict family first business model?

Every corporation falls under that position but have different criteria. Nintendos target market isnt the same as MS or Sony.

I dont like being lumped in with "everyone", including children. I want a game catered towards my demographic.

Biased? Its called an opinion. I respect Nintendo but where I am now in life, I just out grew them. To be respected in the community to me is being honest about yourself and your preferences...while at the same time staying within the community guidelines. I really am trying to do that.

That mentality is what evolves video games, making them a medium for art, deep plot, character development. We clearly have two ideas of what adult gamers want.

To make it simple: MS has Halo, Sony has the Last of Us, and Nintendo's  idea of appealing to the core is Nintendoland....
