Forums - Sony - So... is Twisted Metal a failure?

I Played it a few weeks ago at my friends and local multiplayer is really fun, hopefully word of mouth can make this game get up to 1 million, if only for PS3 to get ahead of X-box with million sellers. :p

Really? Well why didn't you buy it?

Was it the top reviews that many buyers have shared with us here?

You'd really think that selling more copies of what was from all accounts an extremely mediocre game at best would be good for the health of the platform? Or do you just have a tiny , tiny winkle that you can only feel proud of when a console you like is coming third in a three horse race in software sales by less of a margin?

Sheesh.

Simple fact is that it really wasn't a compelling offering, and unless you've been that hard-up for any type of Twisted Metal update for the past decade, there's really no reason to pick it up.

Personally I wish they'd do an update of Destruction Derby with all the modern day physics... now that would be sweet.

I second that.

This. Destructions Derby 2 was Awesome !

Also, I was considering grabbing twisted metal because, I have recently gotten a functional ps3.. But it's censored in ALL of europe? wtf. I don't care how little censor, I don't support it. The fact that germany has their weird laws is fine, when it doesn't affect the rest of us. The other thing is just a lazy douche move that affects all of their possible installbase on the continent.

Check out my game about moles ^

I think that demo flap really hurt it. And they edited down the violent content in EU. Add that together and you got a sure fire flop.

I bought it and I enjoyed it. But I seemed to be one of the only ones in the UK to. First week sales according to this website in Europe was tiny. I played it on my own and local multiplayer which was good but local multiplayer doesn't live up to World Tour or Black standard, online was only okay which didn't help.

Maybe they should have made it like they were going to originally, online only downloadable title from PSN, far less development time and they could have worked on online stability and gameplay.

Hmm, pie.

No way the online hasn't been fixed. It's still buggy? I only played a few matches at launch but it was fine. What exactly is the problem? Lag and bad connection?
