Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft to bring full Internet Explorer browsing to Xbox 360!

That advert was good in that it looked pretty and the song was great, but it didn't really sell me on it. I'm skeptical as to whether it'll "change the web forever", I didn't really see anything in that ad that shows any drastic differences and obvious improvements to other browsers, specifically the one I use (chrome). I will try it out though since it's free.

You likely won't switch from Chrome or Firefox to IE9. The new interface is great (much more in line with Chrome/Firefox), and it runs very well, but the lack of extensions is a killer. There are a few cool features, like different coloured tabs corresponding to which tab you originally opened them from (surprisingly handy), and being able to preview each tab in the Windows 7 taskbar (you can also enable that feature on Firefox). You can also pin favourite websites to the taskbar, but I've never used that myself. It's a very solid browser and by no means as bad as previous versions of IE, but without extensions, it won't replace Chrome/Firefox for me.

The IE 9 ad just launched in the UK, and it is everywhere and it is awesome! Check it on youtube

The reason they are doing is is because they are losing alot of ground to google chrome and doing this is a perfect way to get back into the market and un-alienate people to the disasters of previous IE's

This post pribably didnt make sense because i was typing very quick.

Really? I'll check it out. I don't know how they're gonna win people back, it would be a stuggle even if it's better. It's just viewed as being a shitty default that nobody uses for whatever reasons.

What do you think? The awesome music plays a big part.

The ad is alright but most people won't buy that "change the web forever" crap, at least intelligent people anyway.

I installed it a couple months ago and discovered I couldn't post on VGChartz .. couldn't on quite a few forums to be honest, and comments on certain sites just refused to load so I carried on using chrome.

Is it for gold members only?

About time. I didn't think they would do it.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

Nice. I'm a little confused with the one on my PS3. It seems dumbed down. Hopefully Microsoft will give full IE9, or 10 that I have on Windows 8 which would be great with 360 controller.

Better late than never I suppose. Lol

not sure if this is a good or a bad thing...

Free is bad???

We're talking about explorer so...

Kinect integration.. Hmm, I guess if people were to visit some naughty websites the rapid movement should be taken into account and ignored accordingly, otherwise it might keep refreshing the page repeatedly.
