Forums - Politics - Texan Inmate Wins 41% of Democrat Vote in West Virginia

Well, I think we can guarantee that the Republicans have already won one state.

Much more about coal than anything else. (The Governor and US Senator up for re-election both have refused to say they would vote for the president and they are of the same party for that very issue).

What I want to know is how does this person qualify to be on the ballot?

But aside for providing the grist for the mills of a few dozen political junkies on the Internet for a day or two, it is much a do about nothing. Pres. Obama will be the Democratic nominee. Presumptive Republican nominee Gov. Romney will win the state in the general election.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I tried looking for the ballot rules for WV Dems, but Google wasn't being my friend. They must have extremely liberal rules, which posits the following: why was nobody else on the ballot?

Obama did still receive more votes from Dems than Romney did from Repubs, however.

So it's basically coal-based economies opposing a green-energy-supporter?
