I'd so NO to the idea that it will be or could be a 'game console', but instead it is the addition of full Valve/Steam support into iOS based products.
Meaning iPods, iPhones, iTVs (stand alone boxes that already exist), iTVs (free standing TVs or Apple Televisions rumored), etc will all offer Steam or PC based games.
This is in sync with what Google announced during the last tech conference back in Feb/Mar where it will have a major addition into gaming by early next year.
Facts are that phones, tablets, and media devices connected to TVs will become at par with any dedicated console by end of next year. Then, truly content will be king and only first party will differentiate.
I know I'll have my Nintendo console and probably some Android based phone, tablet, and potentially TV dongle.
