True it is not about history. However, almost every one of those franchises of Nintendo is active. So its history is also its inventory. Mike from Morgantown |
Plus: This actually is my opinion and nowhere did I say that other people's opinion can differ from mine. In fact, I'm most probably one of the few VGC members who bought games for DS, Wii, PSP, PS3, X360 and my all-time favorite gaming platform PC during rethe cent years, so I think I'm as open minded as someone can be when it comes to gaming. This doesn't change my opinion though that Nintendo is by far my preferred gaming company of the three companies this thread is about.

I know, I never said this wasn't your opinion. |
Damn, now that you quoted me, I can't edit the Freudian slip in my last post anymore. I meant of course "...nowhere did I say that other people's opinion can't differ from mine".

Nintendo obviously, the most innovative company IMHO

me and ninty came to terms with our dislike of each other this gen. and wished each other the best in our future endeavors, but Wii are currently working on our contract for the Wiiu. they considered me one of their most valuable nostalgic gamers, and they wanted to try and work something out to get me back on their side for the 8th gen., so we will continue our talks to see if we can get back on the same page lol.
on the other hand, we have Sony who i've already invested, and signed a 2 gen. contract with, with the 8th gen. being the second of the 2 lol.
seriously though. when it comes to gaming, Nintendo has the legacy, and NES will remain the benchmark of achievement no matter how well any other console does.
Nintendo was number one until the 5th gen for a reason, and that's iconic franchises. they got cocky and lost their way and paid 2 gen.'s for it. they learned somewhat, and took back the crown they held in the 3rd-4th gen.'s.
no matter our main platform, if you've ever gamed on a ninty system, then they are likely to be number one, this poll proves it.
Xbox 360 is my console of choice, but for some reason I prefer Sony as a company, over Microsoft. I also prefer Nintendo over Microsoft.
Nintendo was their any other viable choice? Nintendo is the only real games company of the three. Sony is a TV and audio manufacturer who entered the games industry to get vengeance on Nintendo for its betrayal and to make some dough. Microsoft is a computer company that entered the console industry to thwart Sony and prevent them from pursuing Microsoft in the PC OS industry.
Neither Microsoft or Sony are game companies at their core. Games are just another method of bringing in income for their real products. Nintendo, games are their only source of income games are their everything they are not a hardware company at its core it is games first and they are the absolute best at it!

Lexus I was explaining Microsoft and Sony are not gaming companies. Which was a major reason they are not near the caliber of Nintendo. Looking just at their game divisions Nintendo is the only possible option, Microsoft is the second best and Sony the third.
I did read it, but I always explain my reasoning in detail. I cant explain why MS and Sony aren't as good as Nintendo without mentioning that gaming is neither companies priority. I am sure if PlayStation split with Sony and the company went in dependant and invested everything in games they would be a similar competitor as would Microsoft if their Xbox and game divisions split with Microsoft.
But their other businesses are drags on their potential. I miss Sega Wahhhhwahhh!

Wow, what has happened to these forums? Even I remember when Sony always won these kind of polls not very long ago. And Microsoft has more votes than usual as well.
Anyway, Nintendo gets my vote for obvious reasons.
