From a technical standpoint it's hard to believe this game was in development for 5 years, it could use a lot more polish. It looks pretty rough at times, frame rate can dip a lot which effect control and the rotating effect itself sometimes makes the level look turned inside out due to the flat lighting. There's not much to render here, it's quite baffling why this can't run at 1080p at a solid frame rate.


Fez was done by 2-3 people (not sure if music is made by one of 2), cave story which is less complex in technological state point and made by one man army was also develop in 5 years, so i guess thats fare :) As for perfermence, remeber that fez is writen in C# and same Java is compiled "just in time" which lowers prefermence, it has same issue you see with Minecreaft, which looks like very simple game yet it's really demending.
