for some reason, i just thought about Microsoft implementing Windows compatibility on their current Console.

Then, i came up with the idea of cross-OSing on their next console. (Xbox custom OS + Windows)

Then i though about Sony givin Microsoft some blu-ray license for their console without any fee, in exchange for beeing able to install Windows on PS4.

Then i thought about how easy it would be to play PC Games (With some compatibility Mode for exactly the Consoles hardware to get a bit more out of them), while still having console exclusives that only work on said hardware.

Then i thought how Onlive could just be made compatible with PS4/720 in order to stay futureproof in terms of third-party PC Games, to get them all in their holy glory, even 5 years from now.

no, it stayed of its ordinary level of sanity until the very end. (Which IS kinda insane from the get go, but once i thought about Consoles that could transform into Car's with coffee holders, i needed to declare that my brain finally crossed the doors to oblivion)

on antoher note, there are so many weird rumor's regarding the next gen, i think someone will predict something even more stupid.

To be honest, I don't see the point of installing windows on your console. Yes, you will be able to play windows based games but do you buy a console for that exact reason? It is cool but it completely scratches the reason behind owning a console.

I do like cloud gaming, and I do believe this has pretty high chance of being the future for the industry. The Onlive idea is good... and I think both, Sony and Microsoft, are looking into it. However, in my opinion they are going to use their own services, and not Onlive, in order to deliver cloud gaming to their users.

yes you are insane, but it's sound logic i guess. then again this whole site is full of the crazies, so your not alone.

My totally sane idea: ($599 dorrars, pweese) Take a page from the cell phone company business plan. Make the system insanely powerful but make users subscribe to something like XBL if they want to buy the console for $200. With them as XBL customers, you bill them periodically ($5-$6 a month or whatever). With them as Live users, you're likely to influence them into buying more online content. This way, your console is affordable, powerful, your online service is even more of a necessity, and everybody wins.

this is more than likely imo, i am preetty sure about Sony charging a fee (like MS) in order to play Online, so this would be no surprise to me. and i could imagine that MS is raising the price for XBL, making cutting edge hardware cheaper from the start.
