Forums - Microsoft - Fable: The Journey Kinect criticism unfair say Fable's creators, If you don't like it, don't buy it

It's fable, so yes, people will buy.

Also great box art and a nigh on confirmation of Fable IV.

It's funny, not a single line in his 'defense' of why this is a good game includes anything about the actual game itself, not the gameplay, the soundtrack, the story, even the graphics, nothing.

Pathetic.

I was disppointed with fable 2 and 3 so why should I give this a chance...plus Zelda>Fable

I've enjoyed all the Fables and thought this looked pretty good. Not sure why it's shit on so heavily personally.

It'll probably be as good, and sell similarly to Star Wars Kinect. A core franchise making a Kinect spin off. It's possibly got lower sales potential though because Fable is unknown outside of the core gaming Xbox/PC crowd whereas Star Wars has mass awareness among the Mums and Dads looking to buy a gaming machine for their kids.

Still despite this woeful PR attempt I imagine about 1/4-1/3 of fable fans will get it, and people who really dig Kinect will get it because it's a reasonable entry in the Kinect stable, so that should mean it makes a profit.

Mark my words, Molyneux will distance himself more and more from Kinect as time goes by. He surely knows the limits of Kinect by now and within a couple of years he will express regret of hyping it up like he did.

so buisness as usual??

a Mario shooter???

Give a kinect game a chance? Not happening.

The gaming elite have let it be known that kinect isnt a bona fide gaming device.

Gaming is serious manly business!!

The Kinect itself is wonderful technology, I'm sure very fun games can be made for it. Fable the Journey doesn't look like one, it looks dreadful. It has looked dreadful right from its reveal. They shoehorned a series into a control scheme, rather than building up an idea around the control scheme.

Also don't go 'Do you have a 360?' on me. People are allowed to talk about devices they don't have y'know, we're on a gaming forum afterall.

As for the article

"if this was a Mario shooter based on the Wii controller, nobody would go, 'That's a terrible thing. That should never have happened"

I laughed. A Mario shooter is such a dreadful idea, and it should never happen.

Wasn't Super Mario Sunshine a 3rd Person Shooter? ;P

Seriously though, I just watched a video about Steel Battallion and it actually looks like they implimented the Kinect technology really well. I think that hopefully other developers will learn how to utilize the Kinect in a way that works well for gamers. I'm personally just not sure if they can do that with Fable: The Journey. Of course that could just be my feelings that the Fable series is notorious for falling short of mine and my friends expectations.

I'm also amped to try Steel Battalion. I'll probably never get to try the original due to the ridiculous (and awesome) controller.
