According to an insider Resistance 2 will feature: 8 player online or offilne(? -  theres still some doubt about this) co-op, 2 campaigns, plus 60 player available maps in multiplayer.

To me this sounds like an overall kill.

The leak allegedly comes from the 2008 upcoming February issue of Gameinformer (its suppose to be on the cover, next issue reveal comes in 6 days: a tie-in with when Insomniac said they would reveal their next game project).

Hmmm, I'm not sure about it. More players is usually more intense, but I felt that compared to Battlefield 2 (which allows for 64 players), Resistance was more of a quick paced death match type of multi-player. Heck, the rate of fire and everything else was increased in Resistance multi-player.

Now, 8 player online co-op sounds interesting. I'd really like to see how it all turns out and how they've improved the game engine.
