Looks like 2009. I have written an article about this on my blog today. And there is this news article: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/29250/First-talk-of-Xbox-3-emerges MCV is an industry news source so is more measured and better connected than the consumer press.

I hope MS doesn't drop its support for 360 as quickly as it did with the first Xbox.

The 360 will have a 10 year life. Just like PSX and PS2. One of the reasons for launching Xbox 3 early is to give M$ a two product range, like Sony have. All this and more is in the article.

2009 my ass. Microsoft is going to get its ass stomped if they even THINK about releasing a new console in 09.

Interesting, but I don't get why you come in here and make fun of VgChartz users and then continue to post your blog updates. Seems a bit strange to me. Looks like you only want to increase your sites hits.

2009 LOL 2008 is their third year. Every 360 owner should pull out his gun if this is true (which it most likely isn't the xbox had such a short life because its sales sucked big time)

In the end the story is most likely a turkey but a revised slim 360 would fit to 2009.

Is it really such a good idea to rush out several formats at once? I mean isn't it better to put all your emphasis into one format as opposed to spreading it across several? Take the PS2 for example, IMO the PS2's continued success is to some extent holding back the performance of the PS3.

This kind of reminds me of Sega.

This is a plug :P

Understanding is the key.

The original Xbox had a short life because Microsoft ended up paying too much to third parties for the technology inside it which made it uneconomic to continue with. Specifically to nVidia for the NV2A. They have not made the same mistake with the 360, which is why they can make it more and more cheaply. These savings they can pass on to the consumer in a console price war, if they want to. It is also why the 360 will have a ten year life. Six of these as the junior model in a two model range.

So you are not interested in the possibilities of Xbox 3. No need to read this thread then, it is clearly titled. My blog is for industry professionals, this is the traffic I want. Fanboy traffic has no value whatsoever.
