Honestly I think the ending was very powerful and thought it was amazing.  In the best ending all of your crew survives.  It shows your love interest, Joker, and another walk out of the Normandy. So your crew does survive, then before it cuts to the credits it shows Shephard breathe, so it also looks like he survives.  I expect DLC to show more about this though as I want to see him make it back to his crew and his love interest.  That is the only thing that bugs me, is that I want him with his love interest and his crew.  I felt so connected to the characters in the game so it is kind of upsetting that they're a part at the moment. Ya know ... There are like 5 threads on this topic that do a outstanding Job of answering this question. Seriously I dont play nor care for ME one bit but I can understand the disappointment with this game.
