Final-Fan said: What surprises me is that you are using the word "pegasister", I'd thought that was a word in use in the early fandom that died out in favor of "brony" becoming non-gender-specific. Apparently not? |
Oh, well full disclosure here, I'm not really that well versed in MLP fan etiqutte sorry , I only got into the series very recently, and just assumed that Brony was the male fan name and Pegasister was the female one. I didnt realise that Brony had become non gender specific. So I could be using Pegasister in error and you are probably correct here.
Speaking of which, can anyone recommend some good MLP websites, I've found equestria daily but thats about it so far
OMG I find it sooooo odd that fluttershy seems to top all the polls on there as favourite. She is cool and all, but I prefer her mean moments (like the dischord episodes in season 2) and her serious moments (like telling Twilight what is what when she is doing magic on Fluttershys pets in season 3 ep 5) to her normal personality. I find it hard to believe her extreme meekness is so popular, especially if there are supposed to be "so many" male fans of MLP, correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I understood it (and from my experience) males and meekness tooootally dont mix .
What makes me really sad is that Rarity never seems to make even the top 3

I'm not exactly an expert on the community, I could well be wrong and pegasister is still in vogue or there could be differences based on "where" in the Internet you are. Pegasister sounds awkward to me but I doubt there's any "etiquette" against it, if that's what you want to think of yourself as then go for it.

I did read that Pegasister was the currently acceptable MLP female fan term (and it sounds soooo cool!), but I really wouldn't know for sure if its 100% right. Thanks for the info though, It is always great to learn more , keep any helpful hints coming

I agree that pegasister sounds a bit off but there's nothing wrong with it, never really had heard it before. I remember when my sister asked me what would you call a girl who likes mlp and I told her brony, and she thought it was strange. Brony just rolls of the tongue quite nicely .

I'm happy with Pegasister, works for me!
Of course if there was a unicorn variant (seeing as Rarity is a unicorn) name, that would be totally cooler. But we cant all get what we want, haha
Brony is solid, but it is very masculine, I'd agree wiuth your sis that it just doesnt sit right for females LOL!
