Nonspecific impression: OK I guess. Genre cliches, lots of downtime, interesting ending. Improved from MMDW with regard to Rainbow Dash.

oh wow, it's not even some crummy rip!  Good job soleron! 

Okay, that was a really good episode. Normally in Rainbow Dash oriented shows,she comes across as arrogant, selfish, and sometimes straight up mean, but this? This was good, and reminded me why Rainbow Dash is the best pony.

Pretty good episode

Might as well post my thoughts now... I had about as much restraint as I did when Hearts and Hooves Day was leaked, which is to say I lasted about five minutes before giving in.

Pinkie Pie was good. I'm a bit surprised I didn't think she was too much in this episode, because she was in some ways. But I still laughed a lot at her antics.

Rainbow Dash was supposed to be the star, and she passed with flying colours.

The background music in this episode was great all around. Part of the reason why I like Dash is because she has some of the best BGM. So, when you give Dash a millitary-esque episode, that means some seriously awesome music. I was not disappointed.

I will give the team props for being able to back up their claims of an overarching story in this season. The small mention of Twilight working on new spells was appreciated.

Overall, a fun episode and by far my favourite from Merriwether Williams.

Not related: I'm witholding judgement on the possibility of a Twilight alicorn. As others said, it's all about the execution and with how the show has surprised me so far, I'd be a fool to write it off before seeing it.

Not gonna lie, I'm really looking forward to the proposed ending to season 3. I kinda like the idea of her being that.

I, however, will wait until Saturday.
