Kind of annoying tbh. I mean I always knew MLP was mostly for moving their products but still, great way to support the fans that have given them the money they have -.-

Yeah, I mean there must be some kind of logic going like "we want to make X money off of TV, so if we'd make X+50% with a full season I guess it's time to cut production". |
Possibly. I mean, those two series (MLP and Transformers Prime) basically carry the entire network on their backs, so its about more than just selling toys, but they think a sufficiently large library of episodes to carry the network is better than making more episodes than necessary.
Insane Troll Logic works too (don't link TVTropes, damnit. I'm going to spend the next hour clicking through stuff now...), that they figure they just need "enough" episodes to keep the gravy train rolling.

"We" don't even register on their balance sheet. Do you know how many 8 year old girls are out there? Compared to a few thousand Vinyls sold through Hot Topic or something.
Still, I think they underestimate kids' ability to seek out and watch new programming. This isn't the 70s where there's 3 working channels and you need to be in front of the TV when it comes on or else wait for repeats. I guarantee kids say "I've already seen this, I'm bored".

Most of their reruns are on when only preschoolers are home, if that. Weekday run of FIM is 11, 11:30, and 1:30, so more discerning audiences aren't even watching (unemployed bronies like me, really little kids, and their caretakers). The only reruns that would matter are the ones on Saturday and Sunday, once the run is over.
I know when i was little i didn't know or care what was new and what wasn't until i was about 10 or 11 or so.

You could always get someone you trust to export it to you. I'm not sure about the UK, but I never had any problems with customs while shipping stuff to Xen. So it should be easy
