On topic, i know they say that the toy line is different than the show, but *damn* is the toy line different than the show. My internship asked me to go to Wal-Mart today to have a key made so i could come and go from the office as i pleased, and i stopped by the toy section. The side of the store stand featured none of the mane 6: but instead Candy Apple, Zecora, and some unicorn with a Berry cutie mark that looked like a palate-swap of Rarity.

Something looks off with the toy fluttershy, too. Toy Luna, meanwhile, has Twilight's color of mane, while Toy Celestia (as we've long known, i hope) is pink.

Pretty sure I have seen a yellow Rarity toy online at some point as well (official for this series)

I need these.

I'm a big a fan as the next guy, but I don't think I could buy those. They are awesome, but people would get the wrong idea. lol

Yeah on second thought I don't think owning these would be a good idea. I'll have to shamefully hide them whenever guests come over. XP

Did someone say Bronies?

You know, that DVD price really isn't bad.

Perhaps i should buy a copy to then take to Canterlot Gardens

.... and then get it signed by Jon DiMaggio

Hate to break it to you but it is a pre-order. It actually comes out on 4th December :'(

Got my birthday before then though so I will probably pick it up with the moneyz I get.

Speaking of the 'using facts from the show vs making stuff up', are there any episodes you wish weren't in canon?

For mine I'd say Baby Cakes, because unicorns doing high-power magic and pegasi having complete mastery of flight from birth removes a lot of depth from the show, and weakens episode premises involving learning about oneself.

I think they made it clear from Baby Cakes that the bursts of ability the babies showed were just a short-term thing, something that would vanish before they got too much older, which is supported by the need for flight camp or how Sweetie Belle pretty much never uses magic.

I'll agree to an extent. I'm fine with the idea that baby unicorns would be able to do random surges of high-level magic that they can't control and then as they get older they learn to focus the magic in ways they want but the evidence clearly shows that they aren't just "surges" but that Pumpkin can clearly control her magic as she pleases.

As for myself probably it is probably Luna Eclipsed. I don't like the idea that Luna has been feared as some scary mare all these years and her supposedly kind and forgiving sister didn't condemn it. Also, at the end the fact that Luna doesn't get her problem solved but rather has to deal with unfavourable conditions that Pinkie Pie rather meanly created (she states that she knew from the beginning Luna wasn't evil anymore) just means that I can't see how Luna can be happy :(

The only thing i can think of there is that maybe Celestia has less control over society than the fandom has cultivated.

My bigger problem with that episode was that apparently neither Celestia nor Luna made much of an effort to integrate her in the time between her liberation and Nightmare Night.
