"Successful and home to great 1st party games but has crappy 3rd party support and will be hated by the core gamer."

1st Wii had good 3rd party support in its first years, WiiU should do at least as good as Wii in that aspect.
2nd im a core gamer also and i love the Wii, speak for yourself.

I agree. Wii U will have decent 3rd party support for maybe a year or two, but the 3rd parties will make an excuse to stop developing games for the Wii-U and go to Microsoft's and Sony's new systems.

As for the core gamer part. I should have been more specific. Yes there will be core gamers who stay, but that's because they like Nintendo games. The core gamers who only buy COD and shooters, the ones who don't like Nintendo games will leave the system. Which makes up the majority of core gamers, Just look at COD sales. A lot of the core gamers who are 13-25 years old don't like Nintendo games. So they'll have no reason to stay if 3rd party games dry up.

Rumor: Another round of specific details on Wii U specs

- based on the IBM 710 Express chip
- underclocked at 3 GHz
- comes with 4 cores and 8 threads
- 20X faster than the chip found in the Wii
- made by IBM and is based on their POWER 7 architecture
- built on 45nm
- the standard has 6 cores and runs at speeds of up to 3.7 GHz
- 710 Express chip can also execute 4 threads per core at the same
- Nintendo has scaled this down for Wii U
- threads per core will go down from 4 to 2
- roughly “around 50% more powerful than current gen systems”

"The core gamers who only buy COD and shooters"
lol, are those core gamers?

Also WiiU might be underpowered compared to nextbox and ps4, but nowhere near the Wii Ps360 levels,
it was mentioned earlier, Dreamcast/ Xbox kind of difference, so it should do better than the Wii in the 3rd party support aspect, since Wii had 2-3 years of decent 3rd party support, i expect 2-3 years of multiplats plus even more of 3rd party exclusives, of course this is purely my guessing and maybe wishful thinking but certainly could happen if sales are good.

The hardcore gamer makes a huge demographic of gamers and they will influence where 3rd party's go. The core gamer who either like or are indifferent to Nintendo don't make that huge of a difference because they probably at 1 point owned a Wii. The hardcore like it or not influence the gaming market more then the core gamers. It's the same principle as how the casual gamers influence the market then the core.

I don't think it is too bad. IaA, you have always done an OK job, at the least, with your threads.

@The question_ You are doing a great job, IamAwsome.

Your only problem (to call it someway) is Ryan and his Nintendo News thread, that steals a lot of info that could be posted here.

Please excuse my bad English.
