I have yet to purchase Black and White. I will need to catch up before I get B&W2. I am excited.
Also, does Nintendo actually overlook the management of the Pokémon franchise or is that not entirely carried out by Game Freak?

Game Freak is basically a part of Nintendo, so yes.
Pokémon Conquest - Pre-Order Passwords
Gamestop America have announced that they will be providing 5 Pokémon passwords for you if you pre-order your game with them and pick it up by Tuesday 20th June, you will receive 5 passwords for various Pokémon. These Pokémon are Emolga, Lapras, Scyther, Riolu & Pikachu. In addition to that, you can spend 1000 of the special Gamestop Power Points to get another 5 passwords for Darmanitan, Sneasel, Larvitar, Axew and Beldum. These passwords are universal so if you're unable to receive them from Gamestop, they'll be added here as soon as we can
Pokémon TCG: Dragons Exalted
Thanks to our friends at PokéCollection, we have got word about the next TCG set. This set is to be called Dragons Exalted, with the Ex in Exalted being stylised like the Pokémon EX. This set is due to come out on August 15th and will feature the translations of the cards from the Dragon Selection, Dragon Blade and Dragon Blast sets. We'll bring more on these as they come
