Forums - Gaming - Games DB and the official VGC seal of quality

One feature that I am looking forward to is a "Seal of Quality".

In order to receive the seal, the game must be agreed by majority of VGC and then finally approved by the mods.

In a sense, pulled from the ranks and slap on the seal.

This makes it easy for us to shop for games and should attract more members as they know where to go to look for quality games that has been collectively reviewed and played by their fellow gamers.

We can then have some kind of voting system (bi) weekly to nominate critically acclaimed games to receive the seal.

The game cannot receive the seal before release date as that is prone to hype and the failure to deliver.

Around the Network

It sounds great in theory but looking at the scores users give games on this site I'm not sure if people are going to agree on anything.

hell yeah. Great idea.

first off, this would require a login to vote on. Ensure that one quality vote per user. Obviously it would have to have a certain number of ratings and you must have the game in your "I own it" list.

Like Reggie says "Quality is a subjective thing." Until a game has a certain amount of crapness to it, it's impossible to reach a consensus. Plus, what constitutes as quality? I say instead, we make a "Games everyone should always avoid at all cost" and "Games that you should never, ever, missed" and skip the ones in between.
