Would be nice but not possible. Development for consoles relies on "fixed" hardware (processor/gpu wise) so upgrading anything would leave out early adopters.(Which would only bring even more backlash to Sony) The only real things Sony could do is give the Vita a better screen resolution but it would only affect media playback, more RAM that would only benefit to some extent, and better cameras.

CPU/GPU wise, the Vita will remain the same till it's production ends.
