I feel a lot more interested in this game now.
It's not just gonna be Uncharted with zombies as some said when it was first shown.

They really haven't. They're just keeping their audience interested, teasing a bit much (maybv e even spoiling a small section of the game), but hardly telling "too much". Besides, like some here, you could just go on a media blackout. |
You're not actually going to say that Naughty Dog didn't reveal way too much of Uncharted 3, are you? I always go on media blackout with basically any game, because I have other things to do, and because developers are constantly showing way too much of their games. However, after going back and looking at the Uncharted 3 previews and such (since I heard it was really bad), they revealed EVERYTHING. They showed you the whole house burning, they showed you the ship level, with running away from the water, etc. All the good moments were spoiled.
This is literally the first time we're hearing a bit about the game, and they are already detailing plot points, I think it's safe to assume that Naughty Dog will do the exact same thing again.

I'm not speaking on Uncharted 3 though, I'm talking about TLOU, which hasn't had much revealed about. As for your complaints, again, if you don't want to know much, avoid the topic. |
Yeah, because there is nothing similar between Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us. Even though they are on the same track, I guess it doesn't matter since they don't have any sort of link what so ever. Yup.
And I will, I just dislike how Naughty Dog handle their games. Am I not allowed to state that I do?
- Director Bruce Straley on online: “We’re going to have some sort of online component. We’re working on a bunch of ideas, but we haven’t nailed anything down. We definitely know it’s going to be awesome.”
isn't it a bit late in the dev cycle to say you haven't nailed anything down yet and still have me believe it's going to be awesome??

While Uncharted 3 is made by Naughty Dog, and TLOU is running on an updated version of Naughty Dog's Engine 2.0, there are not many standout similarities to what happened between the development of these games. Uncharted 3 didn't have at least a 3yr dev cycle, isn't a new IP, and most importantly, isn't the topic of the thread. Besides, I didn't say there were zero similarities between the two, I said there's not that much known about The Last Of Us right now. Anyway as far as Naughty Dog's handling of their games, nobody said you weren't entitled to disliking their methods. However, as someone who follows this game daily, and from what I do know, there isn't too much known right now (they haven't even discussed the online portion yet, mind you) and if I was dissatisfied with how much they have revealed, I'd just avoid anymore coverage. |
Why would two games having different development cycles prevent them from having similar marketing? And I don't understand how it's off topic, as you seem to be suggesting, to bring up the last game by the same developer. It is the obvious thing to do, though I guess everyone could go "WOAH ONLINE ZOMBIES!" That would be an exciting thread.
If you are able to follow the game daily, then they are clearly revealing too much of a game that doesn't even have a release date yet. For the third time, I am not going to be following it the coverage of it after this thread, I just made an observation.

I don't see why I should bring up Uncharted 3 just based on your personal view of media coverage. I said from the beginning that I wasn't going into talks about Uncharted 3, it's irrelevant. And there's nothing wrong with your observation, I just disagree. |
._. I never said that you need to bring it up, just that I don't see no reason as to why it should be considered off topic to bring it up, considering that they are made by the same company, so the marketing could easily be the same, which I feel it's starting to look like.
Either way, this is getting retorted. I'm outtie.

I don't think these screens were NY, it's going to be set across many different cities.
