2004 arcade shoot 'em up Mushihimesama is getting an HD makeover for Xbox 360, bullet hell specialist Cave has announced.

According to Andriasang's translation of a blog post on the developer's official site, Cave itself is in charge of the new version, unlike the 2005 PlayStation 2 port.

Producer Makoto Asada hinted that some extra content might be added, though didn't confirm a launch date or plans for a Western release.

The blog post also mentions impending Japanese Xbox Live Games on Demand releases for Deathsmiles and Mushihimesama Futari - the aforementioned's 2006 sequel.

The next Cave title confirmed to be heading to these shores is Akai Katana, due on Xbox 360 in the first half of this year.

Yeah, what 'bout us?

Well, i bet this one will be region free. That would be great, but also mean the game would be more expensive. If not, we'll probably have a slim chance of it being released in EU or US by the hands of RSG or XSEED (weren't they the ones who got the rights for Deathsmiles?).

The best scenario is the last one of course. I can easily get Dodonpachi Res. for 17 euros over here. That's an hell of a difference from the usual price on Play-Asia for an import.
