Forums - Gaming - Rumour : Microsoft to bring OS integration of Skype and Google+ to WP Tango update.

Today on wpcentral an article under the rumour category was posted showing a screenshot of beta wp7.6 or otherwise known as tango. It showed the usual os integration stuff like msn, Facebook, twitter etc. But interestingly it had the option for Skype and google+. Now originally Skype was said by Microsoft to not be intergrated to WP like Facebook etc till wp8. But you may Remember we were promised a Skype app before Christmas and now January is nearly up. It looks like Microsoft may have changed there minds and decided to roll a bigger update out for tango adding full integration of Skype including free video calls.

More interestingly is full is integration of google+. If this winds up a TRUE rumour then wp7.6 will make a ton of people happy, but more importantly be a real force in terms of integrated services with no apps needed.

As im on my phone now head over to www.wpcentral.com to see the article.

Interesting. Tango is currently in beta.

There is no doubt that WP7 is shaping up to be a major force to be reckoned with. One thing that has impressed me the most is how polished and optimized the OS is and how buttery smooth in runs on a single core CPU. Imagine this thing highly optimized for dual core chips? Anyway that Lumia 900 is looking mighty sexy!

Google, bit of a defeatist attitude!

I disagree with defeatest attitude. It makes it easier to adopt wp7 if Android users wanted to try it but still use google+. It helps adoption. And its great if wp7 is can do all types of services under 1 roof. It means you can talk to everyone no matter the service type. That's a huge +. Ha ha get it. +.
Lol.

Skype for sure...Google + maybe.

But I want f*ckin folders damn it.

Tango though, that adds more certainty to that leaked timeline of MS products

Google+?

Even if Google+ were a killer app — and it really isn't, yet — I have a hard time believing MS would go through the trouble of integrating such a rival. MS may not have skin in the social network game, but Google is trying to leverage all their services into Google+, including search and webmail services which do compete with MS.

Skype is just Captain Obvious. A question of when and how, not if.

It is an interesting question as to how much market share google+ will be able to take from Facebook. Personally, I think that google has this as it has help with integration of google voice, maps YouTube, android phones (once it gets bigger), more games eventually, and help from its new "search plus your world initiative" . Google also has way more Money to throw at the business than Facebook will, even after the coming IPO
