I agree, also, he seems very inclined to lynch someone.

Well I was going for you next either way because I had faith in NoCtis. Why not let Hatmoza talk? The more he talks the more people can pick it apart and try to find out what is actually going on. Although if I was theprof, who knows that Hatmoza loves whatever this game is, then I would make him a character with very little powers. No one answered my "Are players picked randomly question," So that is where I am at. Also I have no idea what is going on and theprof answers zero percent of messages. |
You will likely be there the whole game then, buddy.
As was indicated with Prof's last game, he is trying to test the bounds of mafia. Rather than having certain clear cut rules, he is leaving it very open. Players may or may not be told specifically what their role is (mine was written in a way where I was not blatantly told what I was), the rules are not specified at the beginning, etc.
In a game where he is trying to leave certain things open, I have high doubts that he will answer a question and tell everybody whether players are picked randomly.
Also, I'm having a hard time with your idea of letting Hatmoza talk so people can pick it apart and find out what is actually going on. This is somehow inferring that you believe there is some inherent truth to what he is saying, only it needs to be picked apart to find it. Simply understanding the game of Catherine should not mean somebody has an apparent understanding of a mafia game that is themed off of Catherine.
Contrary to that, somebody who immediately comes out as having important knowledge should be watched extremely carefully. This "important" knowledge could easily be used to manipulate players throughout the game (which is something Hatmoza loves to do). One has to note that this important knowledge might arise from the fact that he wants us to think the game will operate in that specific manner, as it will make him much less suspicious.
This apparent "understanding" of this particular game could also simply be a trick by Hatmoza in an attempt to see how people react, allowing him to come to conclusions on what each person's role may be.
Regardless of what Hatmoza's attempts truly are, I'm telling you now, be careful. What starts as simply allowing him to continue so you can pick his words apart turns into you being manipulated into voting for somebody you later regret voting for.

Out of curiosity, is there a specific reason why it matters if roles are handpicked or randomed?

Regardless of whether they were handpicked or not (It honestly doesn't matter to me one bit), it turns into a WIFOM situation. One would think Prof would be smart enough to make it so we can't guess who people are based on what he would have picked, etc etc.

I need to re-read the current posts to get a handle on what is happening with the Stefl situation, as well as perhaps get a read on some other people. Hopefully I can present my thoughts once done with that (hopefully tomorrow afternoon/night)

Not at work, but not lurking either. Just nothing to comment on really. I see nothing wrong with hat "leading" things as long as everyone realizes they need to take what he says with a grain of salt until/if he's confirmed town. The more anyone posts, the easier it is to pick them apart or catch them in a lie, thus being more sure if someone is town or not. So I disagree with Baal's take on the pick apart thing, as I don't believe it's about finding any inherent truth.(Finding the truth comes easier with rereads to me) Pretty sure it goes without saying that hat is a crafty fellow.
Only thing lingering on my mind is wondering who moreno could be. He says not Erica or Catherine and he's not Trisha, which leaves no girl-but-not-a-girl as far as I could find.
Reading town on Stefl now as well. I can't picture him trying to make a read on me like that if he was scum.

No he's not your sibling ... and frankly I still didn't change my mind about you.

According to who the hints are thrown out? You? Please do tell.

haha, "let me talk ... people will pick me apart." You obviously don't know me at all. I don't make mistakes that threaten my own well-being. Probably get an innocent or two lynched, but not myself.
Players were not 100% random. I asked prof for Erica before the game started, and he gave me Erica.

What are you talking about? |
Morn is probably a boss from the game (not to confuse with the actual character named Boss): Doom's Bride Katherine's evil counterpart, that Vincent dreamt up.
That's the only real person to come to mind.
Actually, all bosses sprung to mind yesterday after people were not afraid to role [name] claim.
