What tracker is the "official" tracker? Im guessing its like JP, where theres Media Create and Famitsu (but the FR equiv)?

If we go on "official" numbers, didn't we have the 360 overtracked in December in the US by 1.2 Million units? Didnt it get adjusted down for December by less than 750k?

GFK is the official tracker in France.

so now different french articles have different french numbers... what is their source for this data?

I'll wait for official data thanks

The numbers are different because they cover different periods. Nintendo only gave xbox and PS3 number for the period between the launch of 3DS and the end of the year to highlight that the 3DS was the most selling console since its launch.

so pretty close then,my french isn't good enough to read the rest unfortunately ,oh how i wish i was bi-lingual form an early age

Oh, thank you, I thought people were going to use Google translate, I must say I'm a bit lazy to translate !

To be short, the only console up this year compared to 2010 is the PS3 with + 3 % in HW and +9 % in SW. The 360 sold 60% less than PS3 (which perfectly match VGC data's PS3 = 1.6 x 360 sales) and is down -3 % in HW (SW = ?), the Wii is down -21 % in HW (SW = ?). It seems the French market is the one that dropped the less among US, JP, UK and FR in 2011 with a global -6 % down compared to 2010.

no need to apologise,i was on the ie9 or whatever and didn't have a translate i could see but thanks for the translation, the french prefer their wii and ps3 it seems

To Kai Master:

To charge for online playing is not a "big big" mistake for MS. In fact, even online play is free in France, I still don't think 360 can dominate the market in this country. "Playstation" and "Sony" just have a huge brand reputation that "XBOX" cannot beat them easily.

So at least MS can gain some profits from the live business in these kinds of PAL countries.

Although French still prefer to have PS3 than 360, the fact is "Playstation" is losing their market share and "XBOX" is gaining their market share. I am happy with 360 achievements in Eruope.

"In fact, even online play is free in France" : What ?! online play on 360 is not free in France, that's 5 euros/month or 60 euros/year.

Yes, that's right, even if they're not leading that's still a great achievment in Europe, I remember in Christmas 2005 kids asking the vendor : "is the 360 as good as the future PS3 ?", the brand recognition was low, Xbox didn't performed very well 900k in France, less than GameCube)...

other news benulux ps3 sales are up to 7.5% of last year no specif numbers for other console

Kai Master said:
In France the PlayStation brand is still strong and people tend to prefer PS3 because this is "PlayStation" or "Sony" and because the online play is free (M$ did a big big mistake in charging for online play! They just lost Europe domination, except in UK).

Microsoft: "Totally worth it..."

Europe domination these days belong to Nintendo, MS sold 20M Xbox 360s in Europe wich is almost more than Xbox 1 WW.
