I don't know if you started gaming this gen but Nintendo's consoles have always been close to the others before the Wii. An R770 GPU is more than just ' a little better' than PS360, especially since it will be customized. That plus the rumoured CPU, a nice amount of eDRAM and 1 - 1.5 GBs of system RAM would make the Wii-U a moderate jump over PS360 capable of much nicer graphics and other stuff. Of course when PS4 and 720 launch a year after they will be more powerful but the gap will much, much smaller than Wii to PS360. Wii-U will actually be easy to port to. |
You have a point, but i don't believe ps4 or nextbox will release in 2013 i think they will be mid 2014. So they will have a two year better hardware. Plus i think MS and Sony always get the highest quality hardware parts. With both consoles now having the best sales in all of there years on the market. I don't think MS or sony will be rushing out a new console yet nor will they be worrying over the wii u. Then on top of everything the wii u is rumored to be between $400-600. Also most of the wii u specs are just rumors and not concrete. So we'll just have to wait and see. I don't really want to start a debate so im gonna call it quits after this.
It will be a good opportunity to raise xbox live subscription costs. If MS launches last that will be too risky. Launch first and they can always lower it if people won't pay for it.

Sony and MS will be launching in 2013 for sure.
MS because they'd love to launch before Sony again, Sony because they don't want MS to launch before them again and both because they're not going to give Wii-U two years alone on the market.
How is launching new consoles 7-8 years after the current ones rushing? It isn't. And Sony and MS both know Nintendo are a threat. They compete in the same market as Nintendo, I don't see how they would "not be worrying over Wii U".
There is no rumour saying Wii-U will be between $400 an d $600. No one is crazy enough to think that's the price range Nintendo is aiming for.
The specs I gave were taken from GAFs speculation thread where they put info together from leaks and trusted sources. Nothing concrete but it's solid speculation.
I don't understand why you would get into the discussion if you just plan to make a post and then bail out.

Well imo when the consoles are having records sales every year, why would they. Thats what im saying who brings out a new product when the old one is still having record sales every year. If they do come out with new consoles it will be late late 2013 and imo Wii-U won't sale very well at all. They really aren't doing anything different or showing me that it is worth a purchase. All they are doing is updating hardware and adding a tablet into the picture. I just can't see it catching on as good as the wii did.
And ya there are sources out there that have interviewed reggie and it sounded like it was going to be an expensive console. There is also a thread about this, ill try and find it.
To be honest i did not think anyone would post back. It was just my opinion about how i agree with the other poster just like you have yours how you did not agree.
BTW, i like your sig.
360 is doing great but its still aging tech. MS needs newer, more powerful hardware.
wow nintendo making a catch up system well if wii u was a catch up system then i guess ps3 was the catch up system to the nintendo gamecube/xbox , ? there is several things wrong here ,
1 -we dont even know if ms or sonys next consoles are gonna be alot more powerful or not
2 even if they were you are so wrong for saying that wii u isnt a next gen console because by saying that , your saying gameboy color wasnt a next gen handheld-vs gamegear
and saying ps1and ps2 which also had bad graphics compared to competition , wasnt the next gen for their respective gens, dont be an idiot
nintendo dont need to catch up you see , they are dangerous right now, they can win the next gen regardless just by name recognition so dont be an idiot hd and 1080 p ps3 level or slightly more is more then enough to be considered next gen and with a better controller that brings back the standard pad plus has a touchscreen and motion plus compatible with all wii stuff? thats not next gen enough for you! get out of here if you call your self a gamer thats pathetic back when i first started a game did not look like a movie
--in fact it was ugly , , but it was fun and thats all that matters and it seams to be relevent because each powerful console ended dead last in its race
lol ---lets see shall we minus sega-who was never a front runner--- n64 fell behind ps1
----gc xbox neck and neck ---ps2 stomped em , and killed sega
this gen wii not even pretty but stomped the competition what more proof that graphics dont matter do we need to present!

plus i dont think nintendo has to worry cause you see when they get a head start they know how to exploit it! this isnt microsoft ! this isnt gonna be a xbox360 lol
i love it how people can claim 360 is aging tech ,, , the playstation 2 is still out , , and the wii is technically a gamecube so whats wrong with thsi picture here you see, i dont think you got a clue as to what wins a race lol,
it is not about technology under the hood--- any one who watched ps3 dreamcast xbox gamecube n64 knows exactly what im talking about lol its called games price , and the support , and i dont mean --toss in 100 fpses or 100 big name games, you best have games in every particular genre and thats somthing wii did right
They have to release it alongside or before PS4 or they'll be at a disadvantage for the rest of the generation like Sony was since 360 got out a year before PS3.

Now that I think about it I can understand why you don't want to get into this debate. They get tiring sometimes. =p
I'm just saying that by 2013, PS360 sales won't be at their peak anymore plus the best time to release a new prodcut is when your old one is still relevant.
You can't say Wii-U won't sell very well because YOU are not interested in it so far. We don't know much about the console so it's the coming E3 that will tell people wether it's worth a purchase at launch or not.
All Reggie said is the Wii U is going to more expensive than Wii at launch and that Wii would be for impulse buyers at it's cheap price while Wii U will be for the early adopters who spend alot on consoles. Not that it would cost up to $600. Nintendo would never launch at that price. And Sony and MS aren't going to either.
Anyways, we'll just have to wait until E3 to see.
