The way the Vita is performing, I wouldn't be so quick to adamantly defend it. I can understand some people being loyal to the Sony brand and I can understand optimism. Personally, I wouldn't sign my name to an argument defending the Vita right now.

The worse something is doing, the better things will get, I think that's the Sony motto anyway ..

Sony messed up the launch dates. It should have been a global aligned launch. And at $199. Make up the loss on hardware with software (PSN sales). PSN needs to start making a profit too so it would be win win. Get hardware in a ton of people's hands, let them buy PSN games which in turn makes Sony money.

I think insted of $199, they should do a variety of bundles (Vita and a game) for $250.
And yeah, Ninty and Sony launching in Q1/Q2 is such a poor decision ... like, who the hell is in charge. It's the worst time to launch.

I agree on the bundles. Like make a "hardcore" bundle that has UC and another game. Then a "rated E bundle" with like Modnation and LBP (which is "launch window" but I hope is launch day instead)
And yeah, Q1 sucks. Look at LBP2 and KZ3 sales for an example.

Vita, however, has the cheaper 3DS with an already impressive blockbuster lineup that's rapidly growing. Yes, Vita has more games at its launch, but are they better? That's arguable. Yes, Vita is the same price the 3DS was at launch, but that's just one SKU, and the other is more expensive. It certainly could outsell 3DS's first three months, but it's going to have some MASSIVELY difficult times doing so. |
They are better they are just for the most part multiplat in some way so not huge system sellers.
Here's the breakdown http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=138342&page=1#
Personally I think the sales are irrelvent until atleast gravty rush releases

Actually unless I missed something in the past week, for some retail games (the most important ones) you need memory card to save and some save on the gamecard itself. |
What I read was that some games NEED MC for DLC... not for Savedata... and that even some games can save updates on its gamecards... Unless I have missed some news, that's what's said...
Pathcer said Wii will dominating this holiday, so why we should trust this "smart guy"

The memoryCard are necesary if you want downloadble games.. if no You can buy retail games and save inthe Gamcerd itself... If you want downloadble games on 3DS You have to purchase a SD card... YES, they are cheaper... but You have to buy one... If you bougth the "embassador" 3DS You have spent at least 300$ with a class 10 16GB SDCard... + games... The Vita will be more expensive, YES but still I think You're getting more on the Vita nowaday than in the 3DS at its launch day...
Vita will turn arround if SONY lower the MC prices a little more... or make atractives packs with the consola and a 8Gb MC at least (For WHAT YOU NEEDA 4GB MC?) and eventually Sony will release a 64GB card or may be bigger and will lower the actual prices for sure... Meanwhile i'll get the 16GB + Starter kit.. |
Where the heck did you get your information? I got an Ambassador 3DS with the 20 free games. I also have fifteen Nintendo preview videos, a ton of music, the built in software (Face Raiders, AR Games, etc.) at least 20 virtual console/eShop/DSi Ware games, a ton of pictures, Netflix, and other random stuff--All on an 8GB SD card that came with my Cell Phone (I got a bigger 16GB card in my phone--for about $20!) and I don't even think the 3DS card is half full, yet!! Don't just make up stuff to prove your point. It makes you look bad.
Anyway, it seems like Sony wants the Vita to thrive on sales of virtual software--downloadable games and such. If that's the case, why are they making it so difficult for people to buy from them. I'm the kind of person that will buy a ton of digital content. I've got around 80 games from Xbox Live, three memory cards full of content from the PSN (for PSP), a lot of Wii digitial content, a lot of PS3 digital content, and so on. I like buying downloadable stuff. Why is Sony making it difficult for someone like me to give them my money? I want to download games and stuff but their proprietary format (with its high cost) is turning me off.
